N80 OWNERS, do you still like it?

Still love mine to, the slider mechanism seems fine on mine, been using it about 2 week now and have no major problems at all, the lack of apps is a pain but its a brand new phone using the latest S60 OS so what'd you expect? Few months time there'll be tonnes of stuff for it, just like previous versions of the S60 OS, just a matter of waiting.

Oh yeah, it was as smooth as glass. I place all my orders through them and I have never ever had one problem. I've ordered probably 30 phones from them in the past six months and they have all been absolutely perfect. To be honest, they are the only people I'll buy from. My only regret is that I got the black one. I ordered 2 from them (one silver one for my brother) and the silver looks soooooo much more elegant in my opinion. The silver pictures on the net don't do it justice. Oh well, the black is still cool and who knows, they might come out with some silver faceplates for me to do a little swap with. BTW, the more I use this phone the more I am loving it.

yup, and so far really happy with it. sure it is thick and it might get on my nerves down the road, but for now, it doesn't bother me that much and it doesn't feel like it will slip out of my hand...

Have only had mine for a week but aside from some minor issues, this phone is incredible. Between the beautiful screen, wifi and great video playback, it has everything I need and more. Sure I would have loved autofocus, but it still takes pretty nice pics and from what I've seen, stands up quite well to SE models with AF.

My only issues are with build quality. Nokia still can't seem to perfect the slider mechanism - lack of a spring causes it to slide open way too easily in the pocket. And what's with that miniSD door? REALLY cheaply made for such a premium phone. But hey... the quest for the perfect phone continues.

The N80 is not perfect but is close enough for me. Will definitely be keeping it for the foreseeable future.

Love it! Nothing else to say. I do agree about lack of apps...the ones I have now:

Google Maps - Have it but never really used it
mVision - Obviously have that...works extremely well. Check traffc every morning
PayWi - Works well
Agile Messenger - They REALLY need to sign their app. Tired of choosing an access point every 5 minutes. Geez....
WiPresenter - Just cannot get it to connect to my laptop. I think this would be a super useful app for me. And I would upgrade it from the free to the $60 one if I could get it to work.

I miss two or three really good games for those slow moments during the day. Anything else would be a great bonus.

After having seen the silver N80 in person at the Nokia, I have to agree, it looks amazing, especially under those nice lights they had there. As nice as myworldphone.com is, I still recommend x1387 on eBay. His prices are always noticably cheaper than MWP and I always get my phone a day faster. You can't lose with him.

This is coming from someone trying to justify the moolah he dropped on his latest toy... but seriously, what other handsets out there have people been considering as alternatives to the N80? I don't think there are any other handsets available now that can compete on features.

Anyone with an N80 who is not happy with it... surely needs a simpler phone with less features! I think you have to step back and admire the N80 for offering everything EXCEPT Autofocus, Touchscreen, and HSDPA... oh, and the spring in the slider, that's a popular gripe! Everyone obviously needs to have smoother pockets to allow the N80 to slide about easily in. One for the accessories people?

Just a quick survey of all you N80 owners still on this thread... which one did you get, Black or Silver? I personally demanded the black one... and paid more to get one. My experience is that the Black one is rarer. My previous Nokia was black! With a lovely green backlight...

Be careful with that thing olly...the qwerty is very addictive and I'm already having withdraws after 4 days without it!

but an N80 is a nice consolation with that many pixels crammed in that screen.

o0o0o i see. 3.1 works great on my 6682,sda and 6630....ill have to check a certain site to see if 3.2 is ready..too bad cant stream vids on smartmovie, i love the interface

Glad I stuck it out with this phone as I posted some info before on the negative side but since having the latest firmware flashed it is a step in the right direction from Nokia with improving the preformance of this potential fantastic phone.

He's a sham if things don't go well. I'm still in a dispute with that place in PayPal. Mind you, they have the device---it has never been in my hands.

There are other reputable dealers on the Internet that do business well regardless of circumstances. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. For what it's worth, I was a defender of them in the past as well---had good luck with them.

But at the end of the day, it is how they handle unforeseen issues, as well as the smooth ones, that matters.
