My iPhone is sold... Nexus One on its way....

You obvious have never touched the nexus... or HTC HD2... otherwise you would know how ridiculous your first statement is. Not only that but you own a 3g iphone??? The back is plastic..lol enough said...

I do agree with your second point.. there is a learning curve... I would say more so that a Iphone or blackberry... BUT there is only a learning curve if you are really into customizing and tinkering... otherwise its pretty straight forward... taught my wife how to use her nexus in 30mins...

The app store has most of the same CORE apps as the iphone does.. but it is sorely lacking in the game area... compared to iphone.. its pretty sad! Andriod has apps iphone doesnt have or will NEVER HAVE... and iphone has apps that andriod doesnt have, but will EVENTUALLY. See the difference...

Android is just as much of an "Nice" idea as Iphone 1.0

With my experience, you'll be back. :D

I went to the Droid for 2 months. I didn't care for the UI. Sure it does more, but it takes so many more extra steps to do it compared to the iPhone. That, and apps crashed on me a lot. I hope you are happy with the Nexus One, though. I might venture to an Android phone down the road after a few more OS updates, just to see how it matures.

I somewhat agree. I think Android has a TON of potential, but it does feel a bit buggy to me, and the way the menus are set up needs a LOT of refining. I had trouble finding what I was looking for sometimes.

I'd really like to see Nokia step up their game. I loved messing with N Series phones and now they just feel outdated to me. Then again, I haven't had the chance to play with an N97 yet. I just want to see Nokia do well too.

Same here. And no, I won't be back!
Nexus One>iPhone in my opinion, and hers:http://www.mobiletechreview.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=35668&an=0&page=0#Post35668

Real multitasking I missed you so much

Even the camera is not that bad:

I have had many, many HTC devices in the past. They are a jack of all trades and a master of none - IMHO.

Capability: great
Execution: poor

i commend your switch. Even being an iPhone user since the first one, I too think I will switch in the near future. But first android needs to allow you to store apps on the SD card... otherwise youre limited to the 64mb... I have already switched all my contacts, emails, and calendars to Google services, so if I ever do switch, It will be an easy one.

Apple REALLY needs to step up the next iphone OS. Being simple is good, but being so dumbed down compared to all the other cell phones is appalling.

Sorry, but is the back of the Nexus One not plastic?? Because the one on mine is. The screen is even plastic....

The Android app store has a pretty poor selection of quality apps and while they do share some of the same ones, the Android versions are often lacking features compared to their iPhone counterparts. Yelp is missing the ability to create/edit reviews, Evernote does not have any caching, Facebook isn't fully functional. These are the kinds of things that I use on a regular basis on my phone and one that can't do them is less useful to me. Maybe not to you, but I like to have a device that does what I want, the way I want.

There are many apps that Android might never have. I have contacted many iPhone developers during my time with Android to see if they plan to port versions of their apps and most have said they have no plans to support Android or that the size of the market is not large enough.

Another idea I have about the availability of quality apps on Android is the fact that many Android users have this idea that everything should be free and like the iPhone, the real quality applications cost money. If users aren't willing to pay then what incentive is there for developers to spend their time and money creating great applications?? I think they'll stick where the money is.

Oh Im sorry... the "look" of the back of the iphone looks more plastic and cheap compared to Nexus... is that better?

Also in regards to the andriod market.. your assuming that only ONE DEVELOPER can make ONE APP.... Just because some developers wont port over to andriod doesnt mean someone else wont either port a similar app, or just a entirely new developer makes one. When I made that statement I was talking about having the OPTION for developers to make apps on andriod that will NEVER appear in the app store(too Conservative)... but ANYTHING in the app store can appear on andriod(more liberal)

Not to mention we are talking about Andriod OS/Market in its infancy.. compare that to what Iphone had heck even 1 year ago... and you can see CLEARLY were developer support should be going with andriod
