Music Club

Yeah I thought it could work like the rab Hall of Fame thread.

People could PM album ideas and then the 'music club' could work through the albums in the order that they are PMed. This is how the rab Hall of Fame thread generally worked and I think it's much less confusing. That way people will put a lot of thought into the albums they suggest instead of just picking something random, and that way the list won't have to be cleared etc.

I dunno, it's up to you guys though.

Chocolate and Cheese is a really good album that I've been a fan of for many years. Like a lot of Ween albums it's pretty uneven, which I think is just a product their constantly shifting style, but it has some really amazing songs on it. Some of my favorite songs are "Freedom of '76", "Baby Bitch", "Voodoo Lady", and "What Deaner Was Talkin' About", the last one being best of the bunch IMHO. It does have some tracks I usually skip though, such as "Candi" and "The HIV Song".

Well we will be putting our albums in common when we'll be making the list. It's all about collaboration of course.
and cheers for your enthusiasm

The trading post is different, the trading post is just you sending an album to someone else. There is no list that gets cleared or anything. Because I do the trading post every week pretty much.

Anyway, fair enough, if you guys think this is the best way then bring it on! I was just wondering though, if I PM an album suggestion, and it doesn't make it, and then the list gets cleared, can I PM that same album the next round? Or since that album was suggested and then got cleared off the list will it just never be used?

I loved the album, in its entirety. I even looped it for more than 3 hours.

The presence of a story told through the melody, was obvious, even though the story itself wasn't that evident. However, that is exactly what I liked. I had already read the text you posted in here, but while listening to the album, I forced myself to forget what you wrote, so that everything stays abstract, as it was meant to be. The spirit of the story was felt. I went through the peace, the danger, the search, the wisdom etc... without trying to know why it all happened. I became the protagonist in that story, and I was the one going through all this emotion, for whatever reason I had in mind the moment I was listening to Catalog Assault.
I don't have any favourite songs, as I didn't keep track of which one I was listening to. I just kept the album running, since I wouldn't be able to extract one of the songs to listen to alone. It is a one block album, that shouldn't divided.

I would've preferred though, if the whole album was made of one track, as the titles do lessen of the impact of the melody itself. And maybe just have that track as Part 1, and then have another (~20 minutes long) track to be the sequel, completing the first story.

Anyway, all in all, very good album. Excellent work Sonace.

Comsat Angels - Waiting for a Miracle

comsatangels.jpg

The Comsat Angels were a post-punk band from Sheffield, England, active from 1978 to 1995. Their music has been described as "abstract pop songs with spare instrumentation, many of which were bleak and filled with some form of heartache." In their early years, the group shared live stages with banRAB like Siouxsie and the Banshees, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Depeche Mode, U2 (an 18-date tour in 1981), Captain Beefheart, The Sound, Wall of Voodoo, and Gang of Four.
