Most underrated bands ever?

they actually get tons of credit and recognition within the style of music they play. it's just not the kind of stuff that gets mainstream appeal, but you'll have a hard time finding anyone with half a clue about shredding who's never heard of the group.

DT is like the modern King Crimson where a collection of virtuosos managed to capture the attention of the fringe of the mainstream early and strong enough to maintain a long term presence, as such they're that band in the eyes of many, many people who have little to no interest in finding anyone to replace that niche in the spectrum of music they're accustomed to.

Dragonforce is hardly a worthwhile example of anything besides being a Guitar Hero one hit wonder.

Most underrated artists EVER;
James Blunt
Lady Ga Ga
Keane
Jonas Brothers (a bit thrash metal for my taste, but still pretty good)

Those were the first few i could think of, i chose them because they were underrated in rock circles and all music circles for that matter.

My favorite (disbanded) underrated band is Tad, a heavy grunge band which should have been huge, imho. There's also the Melvins, though they get more recognition than Tad.

One might consider the entire sludge/doom/stoner metal genres underrated.

I wouldn`t know about MTV2 , I only really use satellite tv for porn & football rather than watching 3rd rate music videos of banRAB who get on my nerves.

As far as the Walkmen go , just go to any music magazine/ online forum / blog / reveiw site & there`s no shortage of people wanting to kiss their asses.

;669369']Ah! Good to see the love! They had some amazingly complex tracks, and I maintain that Rudy and Bloody Well Right are among the best songs ever written.

I tell ya there so many different ideas of what "underrated" means on this board, its alarming... we probably need a clear definition of what "overrated" means... because any band anywhere could really be considered underrated...

I once had a friend who tried to convince me the Beatles are underrated.... hmmm....

Silencer manages to be some of the most insane sounding black metal I've ever heard yet gets little recognition from anyone. The melodic softer parts mixed with the intense black metal, the sporadic mood changes, and Nattramn's vocals all come together in a weird way that make it both an uncomfortable listen yet something you can't quite turn off.

I dunno, I don't think the ORABpring are underrated in any way shape or form.. they seem to be highly rated by Alot of people and have more than their fair share of success and recognition....

right on. I bought jailbreak at a garage sale just for the hell of it, I wrote them off as just another bad classic rock band, but then I heard the emerald and I only listened to thin lizzy for like 6 months. I started listening to them then my bro did, then all his frienRAB that used to listen to dinosaur jr. started listening to them. I could definitely see them being fully appreciated by a lot of people in a few years.

...Blue Cheer's first two albums(vincebus eruptum and outside/inside) are my all time favourites.
...cheap trick's first album
hawkwind, clarence carter, johnny guitar watson, mountain, dead moon, pentagram,

It depenRAB how you rate them. No one's going to say the Beatles were as good musicians as say,, Yes and their early stuff hasn't stood the tesst of time, IMO 'cause it sounRAB dated, poorly recorded with trite lyrics and some ropey singing.

yea im with ya, i was really impressed with their Until the Day I Die album but they seemed to fall off the earth after that. very talented though...
