Most underrated bands ever?

Nirvana knock off? I haven't really given it much thought. I just think they're good and I seem to be the only one who likes them. Besides, isn't Nirvna a knockoff of say, the Meat Puppets? I dunno.
 
I just got back from the mall and i bought a 2 sided 45, one side thrice, one side thursday. And i got a compilation disk with rise against on it. song is like an angel.
 
once again, that's not popular opinion. you clearly haven't been in this universe in a while. rabers may not like Incubus, but we're not a good approximation of popular identity.

they continue to headline festivals, they've been in constant repeat in mainstream radio for almost a decade, they've got over a million listeners on last.FM, what more evidence do you need?
 
I have not read through the entire 51 pages so this could have already been mentioned.

-Blind Melon - they do get radio play with there single "No Rain" but oh, they are so much better. Beautiful lyrics sung by a beautiful voice with musicians behind him who can really play and do play there asses off. Its too bad about what happened to Shannon.
 
I agree...I saw him my freshman year of college right around the time he released Noveraber. It surprises me every time I run across a new musician from Lafayette that is good...besides the college town part of it, it is kind of a barren wasteland and the only real scene here is either emo or death metal. And not good death metal, either.
 
I disagree. I don't think they were underrated or overrated. I think they got just as much mainstream attention as they deserved, but I would have to say that what you get to hear on the radio is by no way their best material.

I'm a huge fan. Not so much of their really early work like the Screaming Life/FOPP EP or Ultramega OK. But Badmotorfinger, Superunknown and Down on the Upside are all three extremely loved albums.

An underrated band, in my opinion, would be something along the lines of Mr. Bungle, Dysrhythmia, Behold... the Arctopus,Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention or Frank Zappa in general.

One of the most overrated banRAB ever is probably Led Zeppelin, if only for the fact that the two most talented merabers of the band are the ones who were largely over-looked.
 
Maybe that's why you think they're overrated, because you keep coming across people who think they're great! Whoa.... vortex.....
Just kiddin'. Well, I find it strange that they would be found overrated, because I never really hear anything about them.
