It's a very clever film. Have you watched it all the way to the end? If you watch it once, it's different to iff you watch it twice. I don't want to spoil anything, but you notice things more the second time around, and characters, or rather, your opinion of them changes with the second viewing.
Love Actually is popular because it's full of British actors, and because Richard Curtis has amassed some kind of faux-legendary status as a screenwriter. He's average.
