Most emotional ending to a film you've seen?

Oh wow..Hello!!...I found my movie soulmate...I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie....I found it in a boxset along with 3 other 80's movies, in Morrisons last week , and I actually frightened a couple of shoppers who were near me, by squealing, as I was so happy...hehe...Guys if you haven't seen this film, please do, it's fab!!!

I feel like an idiot for admitting it but the Bridge of Terabithia made me cry :o
I can't think of any others at the moment though

I've really enjoyed reading this thread, so many memories, and other films I haven't watched, because I know myself.

Imitation Of Life kills me every time. I know it's going to happen, every time Mahalia Jackson begins to sing Trouble Of The World I'm a wailing sobbing mess.

I'm surprised no-one mentioned The Crow. I loved Brandon Lee and had wanted him to do well and prove himself, I liked Bruce Lee too. I knew what'd happened and I couldn't watch the film. A few years passed and I thought I'd be alright. I wasn't. I sobbed almost the whole way thru then after crawled upstairs to bed and sobbed like there was no tomorrow.

I saw a clip from a Johnny Depp film on youtube yesterday and wanted to know about it. I sent for it last night, The Brave, and I'm scared.

The ending of Benny and Joon makes me "happy cry" when Sam and Joon are in the apartment.

Aw me too, the first time I saw it in the pictures I started crying about 15 mins in and didn't stop til it ended! lol I sure felt a bit embarrassed walking out! Sean Penn is a fantastic actor.

There's loaRAB of other films i've cried during too, too many to mention!!

After watching it last night "The Grave Of The Fireflies".

I just couldn't stop thinking about it all day:(.

The whole Film was heartbreaking...
but it was when Seita said "And she never woke up..." that finally did it for me! I was in bits throughout the whole Ending:cry:!

Just back from seeing "the boy in the striped pyjamas" at the cinema...I have NEVER seen so many people, men and women and children sobbing their hearts out at the end of a film....

It was SUPERB.
If the film or either of the two wee boys dont win an award for this...then there is no justice...Fabulous film...absolutely fabulous.

  • The Fountain (great Aronofsky film - recommended to anyone who remotely enjoyed The Wrestler)
  • The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
  • Benjamin Button - I saw this in two halves and the second half was sooo much better than the first.
  • A Very Long Engagement

I saw The Constant Gardener just yesterday and the ending to that fair choked me up.

Also, Dead Poets Society. No matter how many times I watch it, the 'O Captain, my Captain' bit gets me every time.

Love this film and I agree.

The first time I saw DITD I actually sobbed like I had lost somebody close to me. The parts when Bjork sings My Favourite Things into the vent and then when she screams that she can't breathe...*crumpled wreck*

Sinnerman kind of lightened it up for me.

Of course.

My other choices,

Breaking The Waves
In The Bedroom
The War Zone
The Piano Teacher
House Of Sand & Fog
