Most Depressing Band / Song(s)

Got about 7 versions of that song, but aside from the original, I like Marianne Faithful's version.

Anyhoo My vote goes for Coldplay and Radiohead. If your not depressed to start with, listen to these two morbid, whiny c*nts and you'll be wanting to euthanase yourself in no time.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this band yet, but a lot of people say that Steely Dan is overall sarcastic and depressing. i don't know why. their songs are catchy to me, and their lyrics are a bit sarcastic. I happen to sorta disagree with the people who think they're overall depressing unless there's a reason that I'm unaware of. But I know that one album of theirs called Gaucho is a bit depressing. What do you guys think of this album?

I think the term Haunting, is better than depressing for most of the above banRAB. I would vote for abandonded pools as most haunting.

Depressing, as in depressingly bad? Uh, I thought not. Joy Division is up there for me, as The Smiths, and maybe Radiohead, I don't find the others exceedingly depressing.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Maybe he made an epic album and then when it came to following it up, he just ran out of ideas and a creative spark. I only want him to follow up 9 if he has something to offer, if not he may as well not bother. Here's to hoping something for 2011 though.

Coldplay are freaks... Look at the video clip for The Hardest Part....Urgh horrible, anyways most depressing band eh... I dunno...:O

Yes, you debased an entire genre. This is what we call generalization/stereotyping/bias. Because you've heard some death metal you dislike, if all death metal you've heard you dislike, it doesn't mean the entire genre must be bad. There is always a chance you'll discover a band in said genre that you like, if you keep an open mind. It's like saying every black man you've ever met has tried to steal from you, therefore the entire black race is evil.

And now you're into your own opinion about Iron Maiden, ignoring things that can be objectively described such as musicianship or originality. I'm glad you have your own opinion about things but frankly I can argue why Iron Maiden is much better than Bon Jovi or Coldplay easily.

And no, I won't go play Dungeons and Dragons. I don't know how to play, I don't own any of the necessary things to play, and I don't know anyone who does play. Good day.

the only thing depressing about radiohead is that they've made millions off studio and production tweaking and minimal rock instrumentation. regardless, i still like thom yorke, blah blah
