Most Depressing Band / Song(s)

^ Honestly I wasn't trying to begin an argument with you, I was commenting on your signature and your remark about a song that made you want to "jump off of a bridge." You pretty much brought it upon yourself. What you do with your life/death is your decision. I won't make any further comments on that matter.

Another song that I find really depressing is Puff the Magic Dragon.

I know most people think it's about drugs, but to me, the song is about a bitter viewpoint of change and growing up and a dragon losing his best friend, and it would make me cry when I was a kid.

I really don't get the idea that music is depressing - melody is always uplifting for me, however plaintive the worRAB.

Coldplay, Radiohead, Damien Rice - all get accused of being maudlin, but I love 'em all...

I don't hate them or anything and don't understand the amount of stick they do get, as they aren't completely terrible. But they're very bland and boring. Parachutes and Rush Of Blood To The Head are both alright, I don't rate any of their other albums at all though. I'm not sure how you can find it uplifting, how'd you manage that?

From that list I'll go with Death Cab for Cutie only because one of the most depressing love songs I've heard is Follow You Into The Dark (I love that song)

But i'm depressed or anything I have to listen to Love & Rockets
Their stuff is great for when i'm depressed or going through relationship problems or something. My favorite song by them is Fever

System of A Down's "Lonely Day" has got to be up there.

When I heard U2's "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" for the first time I thought this song made a statement.

Then, in the country music arena, there's other "dedication" or tribute songs like Darryl Worley's "Have You Forgotten".

From the poll list i choose Neil Young. A lot of his songs are really depressing yet comforting to listen to. Cortez The Killer is a real downer of a song.

The Cure and Joy Division were two obvious banRAB missing from the list!!

I would say other, since I don't really hate any of those banRAB that much. Some of them are annoying like Eminem and his group D-12 I hate their annoying songs and vocals :shudder:. Linkin Park is my favorite band ever since I hear rock n roll music. I would like to hear those rock music group more than rap music groups and artists.

Hate him if you want but Matthew's voice never really struck me as whiny... some of his songs can be a little grating at times but whiny is probably not an adjective I'd use...
