Most Depressing Band / Song(s)

The Smiths/Morissey are the most depressing for me. But i can appreciate their music. I chose Coldplay in the poll as I hate them and think they are the most overrated bland dull boring uneventful pieces of **** ever to hit the music industy. Although I did used to like listening to the 'Parachutes' album when I was younger...

You could say that about any genre, that's what makes it a genre. Even within the confines of the genre much improvisation and experimentation can be found. I don't enjoy most death metal I've heard either, but occasionally banRAB will pop up that can surprise you (I'd recommend Opeth, they can be considered death metal but have a sound that's much more if you haven't heard them).

And that you entirely disregard an entire decade's worth of music speaks volumes about your knowledge.

and that's why i shall discard any futer "opinions" you dish out and i will be sure not to touch any of your musical suggestions with a ten foot pole....

OMGZ OpInIonz0red?

grow up...

I argee, Perfect Circle, their cover makes me really sad.
I think they missed the whole point of the song re-doing it that way.
There is too much depressing music out there today. The 90's had introsepction but not depression. What is the point of being sad all the time with some of these guys.
Maybe I am just tired of it. After Staind, APC, & Tool you have all these banRAB that sound like them, Corporate banRAB, enough is enough. Lets just rock.

Fuck, I made a voting mistake...
Radiohead for sure... They get the most optimistic people to consider suicide...
But what about Joy Division, The Cure and The Smith (-> Loves those banRAB!!!)???

hmmm... intersting.

I dont find any music depressing. The reason i listen to music is because i enjoy it - and because i enjoy it, it cheers me up whatever it is.

cheer up music for when i am feeling depressed is usually something heavy. Khanate often do the job pretty well. i ususally listen to them till the point where im desperate for something more listenable, which puts me in a good mood, for some weird reason.

hullo.. yes ive seen that and i cant understand.. some ppl just have NO clue. *agrees with fenixpunk*.. dude yeah that song is pretty depressing man.

Ikea rock. What do they even mean by that? I love Ikea!

Tough break, you could've sat around doing nothing for 3 hours instead. Much more productive. I'm joking, 9 isn't all bad.. O was always a hard album to follow up. I wonder when he's gonna release another one.
