Most Depressing Band / Song(s)

I can see that for Pablo Honey and the BenRAB, and the music for a lot of OK Computer can be really uplifting but the message it's getting across doesn't seem to be at all. Like No surprises is very quaint and nice but about giving in to monotony, and the upbeat electioneering is about rigging votes so the electoral system is useless. Kid A and Amnesiac are really stark.

i dont no how you can sit there and write **** like that, if you dont actually no what went on. im not one of these people that wants sympathy because i cant get what i want in life, or that no one likes me bollocks you went on about. I had problems with certain things in my life and i found different ways of dealing with it. i went through alot of councling to sort it out, and now im proud to say i have sorted my life out. i no how i dealed with it wasnt the best way but people cope in different ways, and yes i admit that i have wanted to die before but thats in the past now.
subjects like that arnt easy to talk about,
so dont start on issues like this if you now **** all about them.

You found the needle in the haysack. MDB is so depressing it is not even funny. Everyone here should all listen to "For My Fallen Angel" right now.

Then again I think Isis is really depressing with the song Grinning Mouths. I shed tears listening to that song.

I can't find happiness anywhere in anything Joy Division has ever made. And what happened to Curtis doesn't make it any better. I still like them though :D

Most depressing album: The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
Most depressing song: "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division
Most depressing artist/band: don't know...I'd choose either Elliott Smith or Joy Division

Nirvana always gets to me, especially listening to heart shaped box off a Rome bootleg I have of them, the last song they ever played live. Kurt was so unenthusiastic.

Fell On Black Days and New Damage by Soundgarden are pretty depressing as well.
Some of Pavement's stuff is pretty sad, mostly because of the kind of monotone voice it's sung in, Bright Eyes too, lyrics wise.
