First saw him on the Royal Variety a couple of years ago and thought he was hilarious. Very good at observational comedy ala Peter Kay, although hopefully he won't become as overexposed.
McIntyre was very good on "The apprentice - you're fired", but he's been a bit hit & miss since then. On panel shows he has a tendancy to go off on long winded tangents that don't always work out.
He was very good on Big Brothers' Big Mouth last night - though that's not difficult given some of the dire hosts they've had on since Russel Brand left
Agreed. I wonder if the piss they constantly rip out of Jon Holmes will be a casualty of the new BBC guidelines? Quite amazing that this year they did their regular shows as normal and also did a 2 week run Monday-Thursday of shows whilst the election campaign was running. Punt has just finished a run on Saturday mornings of his Punt P.I. show which is also good stuff even if the format with "Tracy" is a bit laboured.
Caught a few seconRAB of MM last night with him impersonating a train guard. Hilarious stuff - Very not.
Absolutely right it was due to the media. Are you so naive to think that having the man on every TV show going has no effect whatsoever?
People believe whatever the media tells them to believe. I'm not even going to bother making any kind of argument in support because I think the evidence for it is so obvious that I'd be wasting my time.
I don't care if his Great Grandfather wrote for Laurel & Hardy he is awful.
I have never thought about turning off Top Gear before but if they have him back I wont be watching him.
I saw him on Live at the Apollo a few months or so ago....was laughin out loud....only other thing that makes me do that lately is Summer Heights High.
Anyway...have just ordered my tickets a few days ago for his show in October. Did like him on BBBM last night but didn't find him that entertaining on BBLB and did catch a bit of him on some panel show when tv was on in the background and same again....but wasn't properly watching.
I love Michael. I have been to see his shows three times now. He is incrediblye likable and very funny. He seems very aware of giving people a good night out and value for money. He is anything but smug. He seems very grateful for his fame.
Wasn't at all impressed with him on Mock the Week two weeks back. Tried way too hard, went on too long, and he just wasn't particularly funny. Maybe I just don't get him, but he just annoyed me for 30 minutes...
I was a huge supporter of him when I first saw him and he was unknown, and he is without doubt a very, very talented performer. He has the talent to take something that is a funny idea and make it hilarious.
I must agree he is massively over exposed at the minute, almost Peter Kay syndrome. I hope he doesn't go down that route and keeps coming out with fresh material.
