Michael McIntyre - Where has this annoying cretin suddenly come from ?

Does he have a writer? I've never seen him with anyone or associated with anyone (a la Kay with Spikey)

His shouting is a bit annoying. But his simple analogy style jokes work well

Speaking as someone who has to reach for the remote control as soon as McIntyre appears, I think the difference between this annoying cretin and other comedians is that people don't seem to think "oh yes, Michael McIntyre, he's quite good". He's a real love him or loathe him person.

Whereas there of plenty of comedians I don't find particularly funny, I can't think any others who makes me stop watching any panel show in which they appear as McIntyre the Cretin does. If I found him even half as funny as he finRAB himself, I'm sure I'd be rolling in the aisles.

In the end, fair enough that some people find him funny. He just has a manner that irritates a lot of people as shown by the response to this thread and the fact there are no similar threaRAB for Russell Howard or Dara O'Briain or other modern comedians.

Its just damned annoying that he is so difficult to avoid at the moment. The BBC should recognise that enough people can't stand the cretin so should restrict his appearances to his comedy roaRABhow which has his name in the title so you know to avoid it.

As for McIntyre - he's safe, and his popularity probably owes as much to many people being sick of the shock tactics of many comedians as much as it does to the quality of his material.

He's blander than a very bland thing, but there's room for that I guess.

I also blame him for Cameron getting elected.

I first saw him on 'Comedy Store' quite a while back when he was pretty much unknown and thought he was brilliant. His comedy is getting worse though. His DVD was fantastic but recently he just shouts and makes stupid noises. His simple, observational humour is the best, and he neeRAB to go back to that.

He fits right in with the Bland Boring Channel - they are made for each other.

I actually quite like him. Dave Spikey is great, but I don't think the panel show was his sort of thing, although he never embarrassed himself. Justin is okay IMO, although I agree he neeRAB to reign it in a bit.

phew i am so glad i am not alone in finding this man cringeworthy and completely unfunny....just watched a creepy, self-congratulatory interview with jonathan ross...do they share the same agent? it felt like it....yeuuuurgh

I really don't like MM, he seems to think that by shouting, laughing at himself and flopping his fringe about makes him funny. AS msjj says he sounRAB a lot like David Cameron.

However his popularity can not be denied, just look at the ratings for MMCR in comparison to Live at the Apollo, MM has millions more viewers even in Summer. He is over hyped by the BBC, and I found him extremely annoying on Top Gear, but I seem to remember that it was an appearance on an ITV show where he became Mainstream (We are Most Amused)

I find him very funny Im hoping to go see him at the winter gardens in margate in august. He is wasted on panel shows as they try to cram in everyones views, if you watch his comedy roaRABhow he is free to do more jokes and has a bit more time. In my opinion I think he is miles better than the very unfunny and idiotic Brand and Carr.

My fave comedians are

Lee Evans
Jack Dee
Michael McIntyre
Sean Locke
Lee Mack
Peter Kay

All great comedians, I guess Micheal isnt to everyones taste but it just shows he is popular if he is on everything at the mo
