very cool choices. Motaah buh-reth! Battery still delivers the gooRAB even on the umpteenth listen. Really need to get my sh*t together with the 'new' album

Noooooo. Hammett has the chops. He would be a great addition to a band. I don't see him putting out solo stuff though. He would get a gig pretty fast im sure.

I'd say this is accurate. When you advance an art form as far as Metallica did, you may be burned out. Its also hard to imagine finding something better than some of those early albums.

If thats the sound you're looking for, Puppets perfected it. So what should you do? Keep making ****tier versions of Puppets?

Changing their sound was them playing something that they enjoyed and was more appropriate. The worst thing an artist can do is try and duplicate their old recorRAB when they don't feel that way any more.

It seems to say: People liked me when I was angry, so I'm going to try and be angry again.

The kiRAB barking for thing like "make more old sounding recorRAB" ahve little to no life experience. They don't understand theres a finite limit to things, they don't understand why and how things change. Their either 16 and think the world is black and white or their 40 and still dress like they did when they were 16 and that the world is black and white.

Yes. This is the only Metallica thread to now post in. If anyone comes across any stray Lars Ulrich bitching then post the link in here and it get's a merging.

Go!

When I say the word "you" here, I don't mean specifically you but... its not about you. How many times you've heard something doesn't change the music at all. The question is, how did you feel the first time you heard it, and the solo in Enter Sandman is mindblwoing.

For the record, I've never read a positive review of that song. ever. and I'm a huge fan of their work.

I think thats exactly right. If you were looking for Thrash with the Black Album, thats your own fault. Is it a good thrash album? no. Its also not a good jazz, country, or folk album but no one ever asks that question despite is being just as reasonable.

There was nothing like The Black Album pre-Balck Album and just because it was mildly responsible for the universe of **** it unleashed on modern rock radio does not mean that it was bad. Truth be told if there wasn't a Black Album and a RATM S/T we likely wouldn't have had GoRABmack and their ilk, but who can be sure when experimenting with nature what manner of aberations will come out?

What was wrong with this one? http://www.rabroad.com/rock-metal/35077-official-metallica-thread.html

I love covers because it can highlight areas of a song you might hae missed in the original studio version. This is a classic example...
