Metal & Rock Music Recommendations

Mastodon rocks so hard. The Dead Weather have a different sound. I think Im obligated to say Led Zeppelin rocks and everyone should listen to them and love them.

I'm looking for some new banRAB to check out... I'd like something along the lines of Muse/Radiohead, since those two are some of my favourite banRAB. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance ;)

Eh, Freak Show is the best album they ever did IMO. Slave is their best song.

They evolved in the wrong direction. Their later efforts were scattered and not as focused. Not to mention the personal issues the band suffered after that.

Most metal fans I've encountered have the same stubborn opinion that metal is far superiour to a good pop, soul, rock n roll record. I however disagree and do not like metal nor do I understand why anyone likes it.

So I put it to you, recomend me the BEST metal song. If the genre had to have a representitive in the form of a record, which would it be?

My mind is completely open, if its good and I like it I won't be too stubborn to admit it.

Should be interesting to see what people think!

Idyl Exhibit
Check out this local band here in Sioux Falls, SD.
They have a facebook page and have several videos out of them playing live.

They are about to put out their first full album and has a demo out.

Out of the ones you guys suggested,I'm going to try:
Nightwish
Lacuna Coil
The Gathering

I can't wait to hear The Gathering though.

Rock is stimulating , stimulation can invoke love but it is stimulation and not peaceful, differences that are okay if it is pure joy and happiness and celebration..

Hey, I'm just looking for any up and coming groups that would be worth listening to. Preferably no metal unless it's something really special along the lines of Opeth, Katatonia, Gorod etc. Mostly, I would prefer rock that's got something good to offer!

Also, just fyi up and coming is referring to banRAB that have released their first album within the last 2-3 years. So keep that in mind!

Thanks!

well out of those banRAB you have listed dark tranquillity is the only one i havent heard. im a big fan of the others besides soilwork. i'll go check out dark tranquillity though. thanks unknown soldier

Good german metal banRAB:
(band - album)
Accept - I'm a Rebel
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Sodom - Persecution Mania

etc...

Of course, there's always Tom Angelripper's solo material.
