Media Player Discussion Thread

Wow, I have 17,000+ tracks. So you have like... ten times the music. Man that is a lot of music, you must have like a fucking terabyte of music! Anyway, yeah, sounRAB like Winamp is the best then. =0 I'm shocked!

That's probably because your music is in a format such as FLAC which doesn't work with iTunes. This is actually easy to convert, but you probably want to stick to WinAmp anyways. I only use iTunes cause I'm too lazy to make a switch. I've been thinking about trying foobar though.

I have Winamp . I Tunes , Windows Media Player & Realplayer.

But thats only in antisipation of owning The Flaming Lips Zaireeka album. Now I might actually be able to listen to it properly

i mostly use winamp but ill use windows media for videos & such.

i tried music matchbox or whatever its called & it confused the hell out of me.

I have tried using MM, but it crashes on my computer every time I try to play music. I am sure it is something conflicting on my computer, but when WinAmp, Windows Media Player, and iTunes all work fine I don't feel the need to try and fix it.

I might check out Foobar though, I have heard great things from co-workers and frienRAB about it.

I have no idea if this is an iTunes issue or something else, but my ****ing iPod won't scrobble to last.fm. Any idea what would cause it? And would foobar fix it? I'm really thinking about moving to that or Media Monkey.

I was about to create this thread, but mine was going to be about what you play your CRAB on so I suppose it's different somehow... anyways mine is bog standard Media Player but it annoys me because whenever I click on a link the song jumps. So failing Media Player, I use my good old DVD player.

SO, I've finally shifted from using crappy iTunes to my previous, good old Winamp. I've used it before and changed to iTunes because I got an iPod and nneded iTunes to sync. Anyways, I'm pleased with my new program but the emormous amount of hype surrounding such software as MediaMonkey is really intriguing, I'm looking for a convenient, simple player, that doesn't give a damn about ID3 tags and let's me organize my playlists my way. Should I stick with Winamp or move onto something else?

You can easily sort by decade in MediaMonkey, as well as create filter views that I believe are similar to what you're talking about. The search function is right at the top of the program, I'm not sure how it could get any easier.

^^^ The same happens for me when i try to run MediaMonkey, i still haven't found a solution yet. I'm pretty much sticking with itunes, it might be short on features and not as pretty to look at as the others, but it does the job for me.

yeah i use itunes...i just got an ipod but ive had the program for a while...trust me, its awesome...i like it a lot...ease of use plus it doesnt take up a lot of your comps resources unlike music match, so it never freezes your comp...KICK ASS

Haha, no I don't have that much music on my computer. It was just an example :p:

Well, on a 16:10 aspect widescreen ratio, that puts the search bar way up in some right corner when the program window is maximized. Winamp places it right in the middle where you're working. It's a tiny difference, but when you search all the time, it matters :p:
