Media Player Discussion Thread

Ah, I missed that last part somehow since I sorta just scrolled over. I think I musta just assumed that WMP would take the bottom spot, cause it was always near the bottom of those lists. Honestly, I went into that link just thinking they would be the biggest loser as well. :o:

Interesting that Itunes is actually dead last.

I think I have it, not sure why it isn't working :( I just got a new iPod, but that doesn't explain why it worked with my old one and not this. It says scrobbling iPod plays, but maybe it's just going to my iTunes? Thinking back, I did have a virus at one point and start fresh. It's quite possible I'm just being a durabass and I never put it back on there.

Yep, before I switched I thought Itunes was the absolute best. Easy mistake to make though, seeing as it is the shiniest and has all the toys. In reality though most people who say that are just too used to it, and it's toys aren't even that good anyway- plus most of them want you to buy their shit

All and all Itunes is terrible for your computer, I would suggest getting Revo Uninstaller and level 4 uninstalling that crap and all the other programs that come with it. Things like Songbird and Foobar can not only handle a lot more but also have a way cooler toys. If you're like me though and just want a stable media player that looks nice and runs better then the rest, then trust me when I say Media Monkey is a god send. Do some research, it's true!

yeah, those were FLAC files i had and i figured out how to convert them, ironically enough using Winamp for the conversion.

so yeah, i originally converted my FLAC files, and when i did, they worked on the other media player, but the file size also increased by multiple times. so i ended up with songs that were 25-40 Megabytes when they were originally 4-6. not only was this a big waste of space for even a single song but my current mp3 player can only hold two gigs(sad i know). after a while of this crap i said **** Itunes/WMP and now i'm on the Winamp team.

so with Winamp i could play plenty of different files which i'm really glad about AND keep them their original and more managable sizes.

this is also why i'm glad i have an mp3 player that can play these different formats instead of an Ipod which i assume can't.

That sounRAB awesome. I like iTunes though, I apreciate the newer versions even more 'cause the Genius playlists. I think they are awesome. Plus I will always go back to Apple now after what happend to my old iPod (my fault) they replaced it with the new version of iPod touch (was a touch i had before 16gb) and gave me the 32gb version, a case for my iPod and a

i actually havent downloaded much through itunes...i just htink its a damn good media player. I'll probably start more though cuz i dotn feel like getting sued

Yeah I think there's something wrong with Media Monkey, doesn't work for me either. I feel like quite a few people on here have mentioned problems with it recently. I'm probably going to try foobar, for the past while I've just been using iTunes though it takes several minutes to load and freezes regularly with the amount of music. Do you have to download a plugin to get foobar to sync with your iPod?

that's good that you got iTunes... basically if you have a PC you should go with Napster but if you have a mac its probably better to go with iTunes cuz thats what its for lol

I use Songbird. It's pretty cool and I like it, it's actually less of a pain in the ass than Windows Media Player.

The downside is it doesn't automatically update your library when you download new stuff... and I'm lazy.

not my fault that you run linux... it doesn't make you cooler, any idiot with a brain can run linux

If you prefer a lesser product produced by the worst computer company that is great basically there is no where else for this discussion to go
