McCain just sealed my vote

Also, people need to realize that Nuclear isn't a magic bullet. It's a good fix, but if we went 100% nuclear we could run out of Uranium that can produce more than the energy cost of mining and refining in like 50 years.

Candidate A who made a clear commitment.

Not Candidate B who made it clear he's going to push for ethanol, wind, and solar and "keep nuclear on the table".

We're not even certain distributed power is going to be viable for handling our residential needs, much less our residential and transportation energy needs COMBINED.

Do you remember a few years ago when it was a Republican congress and Republican President? How much legislation did they pass on a new energy strategy?

Oh that's right, our commander in chief was in bed with big oil. My bag.

For those of us keeping score at home... Nuclear costs between 8.3 cents to 11.1 cents per kwh. How much did we decide solar costs? My googling yielded 5 cents (about half as much as nuclear) in optimal areas.... but did you guys find a more reliable number?

Or is Tek just reading random words out of posts and re-arranging them to make sentences then deciding that you claimed solar is more expensive than nuclear power?

Bottom Line:

Technology is going to force us to transfer our needs for transportation fuel from gasoline to the energy grid. When that happens we need a MUCH more robust energy grid to handle the increased demand. Nuclear power and clean coal are the only two viable solutions. Wind and solar are nice novelties, but they are not high yield solutions.

It's right. Turn to page 38.

Our nation is going to need energy for decades and decades and decades. Nuclear energy infrastructure is costly, but afterwards the cost of fuel and operations is 1/3 to 1/4th as much as the next most viable alternatives.

Apparently Obama has nuclear energy "on the table" but says we need to take care of "significant hurdles" like terrorism and waste storage and, because of those hurdles, we should continue expanding wind, solar, ethanol, and other useless and expensive programs.

Sounds like an educated proponent of nuclear energy right there
