McCain just sealed my vote

Actually what I'm wondering is how much it's going to cost to build these battery banks that'll provide energy for the entire country for a period of time.

Buying batteries for my fucking remote control plane is expensive. You're talking about storing energy for entire metropolises.

You still haven't explained to us why we haven't built a new plant since the 70s. Claiming the evil democrats did it isn't an answer.

Maybe, just maybe, he's trying to get the other democrats who don't want nuclear to go along with it- by realizing the issues that the opponents have with it, and assuring them that they will take the precautions necessary.

Might work better than a republican Yee haw attitude.

Wait, you mean to tell me a nation of battery-electric vehicles could serve as the "huge banks of batteries" Tek was just rambling about?

Actually...no...weighing our options isn't what got us in the situation where we are right now. It's the fact that we never weighed the options before and had an over-reliance on one particular source of energy that a lot of interests groups have done a grand old job lobbying for. We're in the bind we're in because we never bothered putting alternate sources of energy in the forefront of our political lexicon. Think about it? When has the Bush Administration even considered the possibility until recent developments that we'd be in dire need of a differing source of energy? Or even elucidating to the fact that we need to focus on our infrastructure to a larger extent after what happened in New York in 2003?

Who's more likely to spend money on nukes?

Candidate A, who is spending billions on a fruitless war.

or

Candidate B, who is spending money on alternative energy sources to oil.

with the price of gas, food, and other personal issues, the war isn't the on top of my 'care' list. Ya, its important to do something about it... but I'm more worried about feeding my kid than the war at the moment. Call me selfish.
