Mamma Mia!

I saw it the other day.

I quite liked it. But it scared me a bit when Pierce Brosnan sung. I didn't know he would sound like that XD

I have seen it three times but have persuaded family we must go again. We just love it and I would love to see it in the top 3 of all time, just to prove critics wrong and as a tetament to its utter joy and warmth.

Went to see it this afternoon and have to say i loved every second of it. Meryl Streep was great and for me the best part of the film was when she sang 'Winner Takes it All', it was pretty spectacular, especially with the sea behind her.

Pierce Brosnan was nowhere near as bad as people made out although the song he sang towarRAB the end was a little cringeworthy! Colin Firth made up for 'Our Last Summer' with his revelation at the end, something for me to ponder!

Julie Walters and Christine Branski stole the show though, especially 'Does Your Mother Know' which was another highlight.

As on the stage, the younger cast members were pretty much there for eye candy (even the daughter who annoys me intensely!) but all in all fantastic. The cast looked like they enjoyed making it as much as everyone in the cinema enjoyed watching it, even my straight male frienRAB!

That said, something was lost in the trasfer from stage to cinema, some of the magic wasn't there, probably because the performances weren't live. Small niggle but never mind!

me too!

I thought the Stage Show was pretty awful. I thought the Film was pretty awful too.

Loved the Greek Island. The settings were fantastic. Loved Meryl Streep and certains parts, such as when Sophie is on the Boat with her "DaRAB" but generally (sorry) it was rubbish.

Still love Abba. And I have gone Abba crazy again since seeing it, so not all bad!

Ha ha, no worries. Like I say, took me ages as well.. but I was in the cinema confused so didn't have the option of subtitles. ;) I think the first three times I saw it, I didn't have a clue what she was saying.

So what did everybody think of French and Saunders' take on Mamma Mia! for Comic Relief then?

Part One
Part Two

For those who didn't catch it ^

I thought it was really well done. They caught all the nuances of the cast perfectly I think.. Saunders COULD be Meryl! :D

It made me laugh anyway, even if they were poking fun of it a bit...

The DNA test :D or it could be a prequel at the time Donna was dating the three guys.

Seriously, a sequel/prequel wouldn't work. Mamma Mia was all about the Abba soundtrack, and that's been used up.

It's down to

All good (or is that great!) things must come to and end !also hate it when one film wins everything on the planet!...and everything else gets swept under the hollywood red carpet and trampled on ! :)

I just got back from it and I bleeding well loved it! I cringed like mad in the first 10 minutes, but then I just really got into it. Julie Walters was fantastic and really stole the show. Meryly Streep was also amazing. Infact they all were.

(Dominic Cooper made me swoon like mad :p)

Going to go and see it again in London Odeon and hopefully that crowd will sing along :D (the lot I was with today didn't).

The credits were hilarious, must stay and watch them ;)

I haven't seen Mamma Mia, and have every intention of boycotting it for as long as possible... simply because the rest of the country seemed so desperate to see it a hundred times...
