Just seen it again today And even second time round it totally lightens your spirits
Its just one of them life enhancing films it really is like medicine although it gave me a sudden urge to book a week away from it all
But the film gave me almost 2 hours away from all the stresses and strains of life and for that i am thankful ! : )

I couldn't wait to see this and at times I laughed until I cried - Julie Walters 'Take A Chance On Me' was comedy genius.

However on the whole I wasn't as impressed with this version as I was when I saw the West End version some songs were missing, some were messed around with too much and it lacked the spark of the stage version and being a cinema no one was singing along/dancing

That said I thought the Dancing Queen scenes were fantastic and I came out feeling happy and merry so well worth it.

8.5/10

Wasn't really sure I was going to like this - was a bit scared since I liked the musical and having read the postings about Pierce being out of tune (which he isn't) - but what a surprise - I can't wait to go see it again - cinema was a bit quiet but you could tell everyone was just waiting for someone to start singing or clapping!!!! having seen the track listing was disappointed a few songs missing from the musical - but most were in there - obviously waiting for a later CD release!!!!!

perfect film to go with a group of frienRAB after a couple of drinks ! So nice to have a movie that has a happy ending.

and can Pierce sing? he nor the rest of the cast are opera singers but its such a boost to see songs being given an additional dimension by being acted as well as sung!!!

Pierce singing "when all is said and done" is now my most played tune on ipod! - if you could put shares on the increased use of a song in weddings in the future this'd be it!!!

can't wait for the DVD

Probably won't beat the big ones, but I think its heartwarming to notice that the UK is seeing the same trend as the US: The number of cinemas showing it are going up: According to the UK Film Council Mamma Mia! was show in 496 cinemas and this weekend it's 519 (Which, I might add is 9 more than the dark knight :D )

I've decided to cave in and see Mamma Mia after watching a doc about it on ITV...but I'm going to see the stage version. I have no interest in the film. If I listen to a musical, I want to listen people who can actually sing. Meryl and Pierce made my ears bleed just from listening to a couple of minutes worth. I know for a fact that I couldn't tolerate their singing for the length of an entire movie.

I'd love to see how they perform the Voulez-Vous scene from the film.

It's probably my favourite scene from the whole movie; love how the music builRAB to the dramatic climax, and Sophie faints. It's distressing, but at the same time shocking! Ahh :D

I said I am the only person I KNOW who didn't like it.
I said nothing about knowing the film. I saw 20 minutes, hated what I saw and switched off.

It was not going to work any magic on me. Everyone else in my family and all my frienRAB loved it. Fair play to them, it just wasn't for me.

I really didn't think Pierce was that bad!

Now for the actor who played Sky. Quite possibly one of the worst actors I've ever seen in a major Hollywood movie. He was atroscious!
