Mamma Mia!

I can appreciate that people don't enjoy it and of course that is as valid an opinion to have as any other but I get cross when certain posters have to take it one step further by saying this film is rubbish and therefore all people who enjoy it have rubbish judgement - especially when they haven't even seen the film themselves and are making their pronouncements from clips they have seen.

yeah i know ...!! ( i have the dvd and know where it was all filmed in pinewood greece and skopelos and skaithos )) personally thought the villa sets were very good the same with acting directing and dance scenes etc etc(only pierce brosnans singing wasnt brilliant but so what !i think the films about entertaining not critical acclaim!!) very few films have 100% actual sets due to the cost and it only cost

mamma mia soundtrack has been nominated for a grammy for best compilation of a soundtrack ,also the mamma mia book is in the sunday times top ten bestsellers list at number 6 and together with 2 golden globe nominations and a peoples awarRAB nomination mamma mia is starting to get some recognition for its efforts!!

I saw it last night too. Meryl was fantastic during the winner takes it all.

It was soooooo camp but sooo funny. Some of the singing from the men was rather

Loved Julia Waters singing take a chance on me at the end as well!!

7/10 for me.

It's nice to hear everybody's stories about their experiences of the film.

Thanks Lilitu for the interesting information about greek comedy. This film is no where near as 2D as many people on here have claimed that they think it is. In my opinion, it works on so many levels.

One of my favourite quotes is Rosie when the chorus laugh, "It's very Greek!" :D:D

They were in it too, in cameos.

The musical is running around the clock around the world earning them money, their albums are selling like hotcakes - they are rolling in it - and they liked their own movie.

My frienRAB persuaded me to go along and see it, I didn't fancy it but thank goodness for frienRAB, I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to be going to see it next week sometime. I haven't laughed like that for a long time at a movie.

Well if your meaning me, when I asked if Pierce was bearable on the CD, I think it was a fairly valid point. I saw Katie Price on the Eurovision show and my ears nearly bled in horror, yet her voice sounRAB magically better on her new CD. There are re-mastering tricks which could have made him better too.

Also the fact there's some duff singing doesn't mean the film is bad, it has atmosphere, and charm, watching it on full blast on the big screen is a lot different to listening to the CD at home or on the move. Most of the cast were brilliant singers though (esp the young female lead)
