Last Movie You Watched? (Part 3)

Westworld (1973) Michael Crichton's tale of a high tech holiday camp populated by robots, where customers with enough money can live out their fantasies... until things go badly wrong.

Looks a bit dated but still entertaining. Yul Brynner is chilling as the unstoppable black clad gunslinger who pursues our hero. Think of Jurassic Park (another Crichton story) meets The Terminator and you'll get an idea what it's like.

The Killer Inside Me

One of the most mysoginistic films I've had the displeasure of seeing. Watching women getting punched repeatedly in the face and kicked in the stomach and head until they urinate themselves is not my idea of entertainment. I found it a vile, repulsive little film, another tasteless dose of crap defended by the 'pushing the boundaries of realism' brigade. I'm sorry but there's no excuse for this kind of thing, it's not cutting edge, it's not art and there's simply no need for it. Rant over. *takes medicine*

Kick-Ass - 7/10 slightly disappointing super hero spoof/homage that rarely raises more than a smile, but is largely saved by the performance of an eleven year old girl.

Shelter

Laughable witchcraft yarn with Julianne Moore discovering one of her disturbed patients is collecting souls instead of stamps. The witch is unintentionally hilarious. Awful film.

Just watched Saw III..

I have I , II and III all on my recorder planner..I like the second one best, but the thrid is a bit of a blur as i any watched it once before..I love these films and hope the others come on tv soon ;)

Tulpan - Fairly interesting film about a family of Kazakh sheep herders. That's pretty much it, really. It was quite light in the way of plot, but it was interesting in the way it depicted their life; there they are living on the steppe, looking after their sheep, avoiding the dust tornados and they still have the same shitty problems as everyone else! Can't get a wife, can't get a job, ain't got your own home... same the world over innit. Quite funny in places too.

It's definitely not supposed to be taken seriously.

I've just watched:

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) - 9/10

I feel this movie gets unfairly lumped in with the other so-so prequels (which i've also just re-watched. Ep 1 = 6.5/10, Ep 2 = 7.5/10), but Ep 3 is actually really good, almost as good as the original trilogy. The only bit that lets it down is the hilarious "Noooooooooo!" moment and the ludicrous "she lost the will to live" part...come on George, you had nearly 20 years between Ep 6 and Ep 3 and that's the best excuse to kill off Luke and Leia's mum you could come up with?!? lol.

I really didn't like it when I saw it in the cinema. But it got rented and I enjoyed it a bit. Even if it is a little silly in parts it's just a bit of fun :p
