Last Movie You Watched? (Part 3)

Miller's Crossing

Coen brothers film about gangland competition in prohibition America and divided loyalties. Quite enjoyed this film and really appreciated Jon Polito's acting as one of the crime bosses.

The Disappearance of Alice Creed.

A slow film that never got going for me. I wanted to care about Alice and be concerned about her, but I wasn't. Unless you want to see Gemma Arterton;s boobs this isn't a film you are likely to watch more than once.

3/10

Agreed. I tried watching it after reading about how good it was, but got bored after a while and switched it off. I may give it another chance the next time I've got nothing better to do though.

Speed - 7/10 - Watched it again after seeing it years ago. Highly enjoyable.

Agreed. Don't know what went wrong! Was it mis-cast? Cast not feeling the book? Wrong direction? Needed to be a longer film to encapsulate some of the missing key scenes?:(

Takers 6/10 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1135084/)

Ok if you want to leave your serious head at the door and just watch some plain old action. I'd seen 'The Town' a couple of days before - so two bank heist films in three days.

Almost nothing special about the cast but I did like Matt Dillon & Jay Hernandez's performances. Paul Walker was his usual one dimensional self (LOL) but I was surprised that the usually underwhelming Hayden Christensen played his part quite well.

Oops, sorry to waffle.

The Mist is 3 years old now, I don't think you need to apologise for anything.

The Club (1980)

Graham Kennedy superb as the new chairman of an Australian football club. The backroom bitching and shennanigans are hilarious, and probably not a million miles away from what goes on in real life at big money clubs. A lost classic.

9/10

What About Bob

Comedy with Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss, reminded me a bit of The Cable Guy in the way that the family loved the nutter and the focus of the nutters attention hated him

Knight & Day (LINK)

It had its moments here & there but I was mostly bored with this. Tom Cruise was ok in it but the film is like a light-hearted "Mission Impossible" and didn't really click with me. It should have been better.

I didn't like it. I'm a big zombie fan but I just didn't like this movie. Maybe because it was way over the top or maybe because of its campy acting. I don't know. This movie (uncut) is on a lot on the IFC channel here in the US. There's no escaping it. :p
