Last Movie You Watched? (Part 3)

Summer With Monika 1953

Ingmar Bergman's Swedish film of a young couple who meet and spend a happy summer together but things turn sour.

ReminRAB me of A Kind Of Loving.

Enjoyable.

6/10

You were kinder to it than me.
I too prefer Ray Harryhausen's effects to the cgi.
As I put above you I always loved the 1981 Medusa Lair part - not this one Medusa was too good looking until of course she pulled a face.

LegenRAB Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga' Hoole 3D

A belter of an animation film that takes on Toy Story and Shrek and smashes them.

This film is a classic 9/10

Kindergarten Cop

Love the part where he's finally got control of the class and is playing a little ukelele (sp?) and the little girl standing next to him is doing a little dance. Love it, always makes me giggle. :D Apart from that, the storyline's got serious issues (i.e. the physical abuse of the boy the cop thought was the bad man's son) and funny parts too. 8/10

Daylight robbery - 8/10
Sin city - 5/10
One hour photo - 4/10
Freedom writers - 9/10 - Why hilary swank didn't get an oscar nom is beyond me

I saw paranormal activity last night. Better then the first but still hilarious. 8/10. The first one got about a 6 for me.

It's very rare that this happens to me, but I started watching a film, that although true, realistic and very well made, I simply couldn't finish - if anything it was too realistic and actually depressed me. It was about the Jewish American journalist Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped, tortured and beheaded by Al-Qaeda terrorists.

A Mighty Heart. 2007

Starring Don Futterman and Angelina Jolie.

No rating, not because it was bad, but because I couldn't watch it all.

The Year of Living Dangerously

Political romance-drama centered around the Indonesian troubles of the mid-sixties. Great performances all round, especially from Linda Hunt, and generally an excellent film. But like so many of Peter Weir's other films (Witness, The Truman Show etc) frustratingly enRAB up less than the sum of its parts. 7.5/10

300

"Spartans!" "Tonight we dine in Hell!"

Why had I avoided this for so long?

Lord knows, but it's hyper-stylized alpha-male (and blatantly homo-erotic) fantasy at its most thrilling and innovative. What a cracker. 8.5/10
