Last Movie You Watched? (Part 3)

Jumper (2008). It was on C4 a few days ago and I recorded it.

God, it's awful. The plot is pathetic, the acting is dreadful (someone should really tell Hayden Christensen to stop), the characters are unlikeable and the ending makes you feel that this was a pilot for a TV show (i.e. everything is unresolved.)

The special effects are quite cool and Jamie Bell at least tries to act a bit, although his accent keeps wandering all over the place for some odd reason.

Now its come to film season :D i started getting some films again from Blockbuster lol

Last night i watched Fear Island..Not bad, but it kept freezing  so i had to skip bits..So i kinda knew what happened at the end ..

Monster

A worthy but dark and depressing film starring Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. A prostitute in desperate times befrienRAB a young, lonely lesbian still living with her religious parents and strikes up a relationship. However, one of her clients rapes and tortures her, but she manages to free herself and kills him, taking his car and money. She then goes on the run with her new lover, travelling around and killing clients to steal money and get new cars, all without her lover's knowledge. Although a sympathetic story, the subsequent killings also show the dark side of her character, which the film doesn't shy away from. It's based on the true story of Aileen Wuornos, although there is some argument about the truth of the story that the film paints. Still, the film is a riveting and emotional watch, and is well done despite the controversy.

Watchmen (BluRay)

Got this on BluRay yesterday and it's absolutely stunning aesthetically. Even the menu is beautiful :D One of the best BluRay pictures I've seen so far. The film itself is splendid too.

9/10

The Thirteenth Floor

Superb sci-fi, set around a virtual world in 30s L.A. Lots of twists and turns and aesthetically gorgeous, very reminiscent in places of Blade Runner.

9/10

National Lampoon's Vacation

Timeless comedy from Chevy Chase & Beverley D'Angelo as the hapless GriswalRAB driving across the US to WallyWorld :D It's aged very well and still makes me laugh out loud in places.

8/10

14 Blades - 7/10 Fairly inscrutable epic Chinese tale set in the Ming period with loaRAB of wire-fu, forlorn love, stoic heroics and the usual body count of both goodies and baddies.

Flashbacks of a Fool 8/10. Daniel Craig

Gosh surprisingly good.:)

Stumbled across this last night, never heard of it but thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

Just watched The A Team...talk about OTT  LOVED IT!!! :p

Just when you thought Hollywood couldn't exagerate any further, we get a shoot out mid air involving a flying tank that crashes safely in a German lake from which the occupants emerge and ask directions from an elderly German couple who were out fishing for the day :D

And the whole tanker and container scene at the end oh my lord!

Awesome nontheless in a "fun, let's escape the real world for 2hors" kind of way!

When's the sequel?? They will really have to up their game...now what could surpass a flying takn??:D

slaughterhouse massacer..seen this last night. yeah it is garbage. more of a softcore porn film. the girls in it especially the brunette bird are really fit and they just run about naked the whole time for no reason and there is this lesbo scene near the begginning which is another plus. and thats the only good points. theres also some guy called Stoner who is really stoned throught out the whole thing lol. it is quite funny

May I also suggest reading the excellent short story by Daphne du Maurier, which the film was based on.

I don't scare easily, especially with the written word, but that was just chilling.
