Afternoon All,
I think the fact that LRTC has it's own purpose built set might be in its favour in the cost dept S, and Victoria Wood used it for her Christmas special so they are getting their moneys worth from it.

Agree with you about commercial TV tho, I watched 'Mo' with Julie Walters on C4, it was excellent but it's the first thing I've watched with adverts since..........well it must be months. All this talk recently about BBC having to give some of its licence money to commercial channels, not sure if that would up the standard or if they would just use it to make even more tosh, personally I hope it never happens. The TV licence is worth every penny (how much is it these days?.........my Ma stays with me and she gets a free one, so I have no idea

)
I quite like the 'little man' tag PC, and I loved Dorcas telling Queenie she wanted to turn her little man into a little boy.
I think this was the one episode JD should have got a mention at least, but I fear, like Nan he has been exterminated

Nice article in RT today featuring the actual current inhabitants of Lark Rise (Juniper Hill). One guy, 86 year old Mickey is the nephew of the lady Queenie is based on, and the villagers call him Twister.
Apparently Laura acutally worked in Candleford (Fringford) for 7 years, beginning when she was 14.........could we hope for another 4 series?......think that maybe too many myself

Glad she changed the names tho.............Juniper Hill to Fringford just doesn't have the same ring to it somehow
Here's what the RT 'Pick of the Day' piece says
'There's no point in trying to resist, even if you think it's all idealised Disneyfied bucolic bunkum, because Lark Rise has that way of sucking you into its softly glowing world of applecheeks and home-made cider.'
Doesn't it just............resistance is futile
