Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

The world was very different before central heating. I think the only reason all of our family watched Morecambe and Wise was that the living room was the only one with a fire. For half of the year the idea of going up to your bedroom to read a book was out of the question.

I'm off to bed now, maybe enough time for a quick "endeavour" before sleep.

Can somebody please pass me the Kleenex - sniff, sniff!!!:cry: Could there possibly have been any other ending!!

Well, seeing I'm possibly the only one not watching football (I can guess the score for all the air horns going off) I'm going to watch episode 6, series 1.

Up for discussion after the footie if there's any takers?

It has played in some areas around the US but not in my area of California, for some reason. I believe it's only been show on PBS (Public Broadcasting System) so it's not well known here. Those who have seen it love it, though. I'm afraid most people in the US have never heard of it which is such a shame! I'm doing my best to spread the word, though!

This is the first episode this series I have actually enjoyed. I did think the song storyline was naff (a song is sung and it changes everybody's life - yeah, right), and in fact the whole series seems to be a little eerie in feel. Do you think somebody decided that the supernatural was the way to go?

But so many of the characters were on song(!) Minnie was particularly delightful, with the Pratt sisters and Thomas really adding to the comedy. I did get fed up with Robert. His stiff-necked pride has now been done to death, I feel.

But, did the trailer show Sidney at death's door? In which case, why is Dad not summoned to be at his beRABide?

Thank you. :)

I don't actually agree with this, I want to relax and be entertained but I don't want to disengage my brain completely and be taken for granted. And I would never compare Lark Rise to the The Royal or Heartbeat - they don't make me feel good because they are very shallow of plot and predictable and whenever I have seen them my attention wanders because I am bored. I don't want Lark Rise to go down that road at all because it generally has a lot more going for it.

Thanks you angelheart, dont worry we wont tell anyone :D
at least I can get my disappointment out of the way now and enjoy the final episode. Cant believe its over for another year. :)

rubbish....julia sawalha..... have you taken and yellow pills today?

people also were talking less about the show and more about her so i think we might have seen that last of her
which sucks because i wasnt on the board when she was:cry::cry:

I was thinking that very same thing the other day--a sort of Lark Rise to Candleford festival! Maybe they would let us visit the set and of course we must have Julia as guest of honor! That would be a blast! :D
Where in England do you live?
