Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

I watched it last week as we planned so I'm afraid it isn't quite so fresh in my mind. It was interesting, the scene with Sir Tim, it does occur in the book at some point, but lady A wasn't involved.
Much much later Flora writes about a dalliance which she had with one of the local gentry, she may well have been drawing on this experience as Flora appears to use Miss Lane as a vehicle for illustrating what happened to herself as a young woman. The real Miss Lane was much older.

I have to say I'd forgotten how beautifully they set the scene in that first episode, I know I shall be able to watch this series over and over again.

I agree about series 1 but i think alot of that has to do with the fact they had longer to plan it. It was a cohesive unit. S2 and 3 are soaps really as they are being written as they are filmed. I don't think it makes it good or bad but agree it does make it different.
 
No BM, she got a good price for the flock at the Christmas Market and has gone to Dubai for a bit of retail therapy:D:D

Another truly amazing installment - thank you Lark Riser :) Looking forward to the next scene! I don't want the story to end but its true that good things sadly cannot go on forever, but atm your writing is wonderful. Thank you :)
 
I didn't take it as a put down, you are quite right, sometimes the D.O.P'S work can be completely altered in the grade, you are absolutely right.:)

Sad thing is that everyone's budget is being cut. I wish I knew where all the money was going.
I've been working on things where production are trying to deliver the same quality of programme, but without the previous amount of money. Sport are being hit as much as drama.

But I agree with you that it does seem stupid to have a series that's obviously a success and then treat it like that.
If they're looking towarRAB selling abroad, then a broadcaster is going to be more interested in buying a series of 12, rather than a short run of 6.

I think I'd better stop before I start ranting :D
 
I have to agree with you. It all seems a bit piecemeal. Last night was completely incongruous. To be in the hotel garden with Tom Conti, and to completely blank out what happened with JD just seemed strange.

I am afraid that I don't think that Dorcas is in a strong position to pontificate on anyone else's life.

BTW Glad to see that you are still around.
