Thanks so much LarkRiser, what a great welcome
I love what you've said about Dorcas and Sir Tim, I think everyone got caught in that Catch22 situation along with them - so obviously right for each other on one level but totally impossible on another. So many scenes between them were so intense - I loved the one with his hand brushing hers on the counter. Plus the episode where he assumes Dorcas will accompany him to the musical evening in Lark Rise. He sits there, verging on the smug, and you can see Dorcas thinking, "Bloody man, having your cake and eating it!" as if her hormones are taking a swipe at the nearest male and she says she won't go with him after all. His confusion is something that Dorcas thoroughly enjoys.
I wish series two could have been man-free and then someone maybe introduced in series three. Sorry, but Dorcas in love is great to watch!
So many other characters are so well loved in our house too - my husband particulary cracks up at almost everything Twister says. The Pratt sisters are jewels (come back Ruby!) and Minnie is a sweethearted delight.
We shall buy series three on DVD, then watch it after series one and two, which should hopefuly fill the terrible void at 8pm on Sunday evenings. It really is that bad!
I'm willing Julia to write her autobiography so I can camp out at a book-signing to say hello and thank you in the flesh! OTT? Maybe, but Lark Rise is well and truly under my skin!
Roll on January 2011 - eeek, ages and ages!!!
