Iron Man 2

just back from the seeing it at the cinema as well.

it was okay. i enjoyed the first one much more.

the film would have benefitted from a huge action sequence - maybe showing an example on how Ironman made the world completely peaceful

those who are going to watch it - stay tuned folks. there is extra shit after credits.

Just got back from seeing it as well. It was ok but nothing special.
I think it's likely to take a hammering on the forums.

As usual there is an extra bit and boy do you have to wait for it. It's right after the very last credit. Once the credits role there are three songs, so until you move onto the third one you're not close to it. To be honest it'ss not worth hanging about for and throughs up a major problem inb relation to the comic's cannon.

When I went, there was a woman with a 2 year old boy behind us.

I literally can not fathom what must go through her head. He didn't understand it, was shouting questions about white robots, kicking my chair, grabbing my hair, walking around, shouting.

He was only quiet during the action. Clearly he had no hope of understanding the rest. I would also suggest the violence and language was not suitable for a 2 year old.

He clearly didn't enjoy it. I suspect that meant his mother couldn't enjoy it and am pretty sure everone else suffered as a result.

What the hell? 12A = 2 year old?

They should bring back the straight 12 rating, as clearly they vastly overestimated parental judgement.

I was wondering about that two; however, in the donut shop scene I think Nicjk Fury alluded to there being more out there than just advanced technology, which I suppose allows them to say they never stated that alien/mystical power sources didn't exist; just that Tony Stark and the other characters in the Iron Man movies hadn't encountered them yet.

I thought the film was okay. For me it felt like three big set-pieces, with filler scenes between them designed to push the plot from set-piece A (Monaco) to set-piece B (party knock-down) to set-piece C (the final fight). Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad film but I wasn't completely engrossed throughout. I also never engaged with Mickey Rourke (or Sam Rockwell for that matter), so I didn't care whether they were defeated or not (not that there was ever any doubt about that).

I thought Scarlet was a decent addition, but I found myself wondering what Emily Blunt (the original choice apparently) would have been like in the part. Bringing back Leslie Bibb, whilst a link to the first film, was a bit of a waste of time though, and just served as more filler until we got to the actual driving/fighting scenes.

On the subject of Scarlet, we now have Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Agent Coulson established as SHIIELD agents, and decent-sized characters in the Iron Man films. What's the likelihood of Black Widow or Agent Coulson cameoing (even if just in post-credit scenes) in the other movies slated (Thor, Captain America, Hulk 2, etc.?). Or will it be left to the headliners and Nick Fury to establish the links/continuity between the films?

Overall I give it 3/5. I don't regret seeing it, it's certainly not the worst fil I've seen this year, nor is it the best. It's the sort of film I'd be likely to pick up on DVD as part of a special offer (3 for

I've just seen it and I didn't like it :(

I really liked the first film, and now after seeing this, I realise there was nowhere else for them to take the story.

The plot is really weak, and it

Well i stayed until the end and watched the clip, i'm assuming the reference was with the sword right at the end? What was it referencing? :p

Agent Coulson is in Thor How big his part will be I'm not sure but he is in the listings for the film and has confirmed it in an interview.

I would imagine that is Cap's shield. They're dropping links and clues in the carios films to tie them up for The Avengers film in 2012.

I went to see it tonight. I love Marvel stuff, but this really disappointed me. I couldn't be bothered with it. I paid more attention to things like the lighting in the cinema, and I even went for a wee in the middle of the film which I never usually do (I hold it in! :p)

It was too slow paced, and when something actually happened it was over in a couple of minutes.

Oh well, it only cost me

Just finished watching it and I thought it was great. I'm glad it wasn't non stop action. What is usually the case for sequels to these type of films is 'let's go overboard with action scenes and special effects' like Transformers 2 and Spiderman 3. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and not one of them irritated me, even Gwyneth!

8.5/10

Also, Robert Downey Junior is an amazing actor as usual. A real joy to watch.

thats a bit rude! notw (not my favourite paper tbh) film reviews aren't actually that bad, he actually knows what he's talking about

better than paul "two thumbs up" ross and shebah ronay anyway :-0

Oh yeah just to warn you in case you don't know the "F Word" gets bleeped in this film.

More info here.

The BBFC have now explained their 12A rating:

Iron Man 2 is an action blockbuster starring Robert Downey Jnr in his second outing as the Marvel Comics superhero Iron Man. It was passed 12A for moderate violence and bleeped strong language.

Just got back from seeing this & thought it was pretty good & loved the way other future projects got tied in.

But then again seeing Scarlett Johansson in a tight costume & kicking ass, is always worth the price of the ticket. :p

Will def get this on dvd / bluray when it gets released.
