Internet DVD rental

Online rentals are much greater that Sky Movies, you get the latest titles that are equivilant to the ones they show on Sky Box Office or even newer titles than those.

Word of warning stay well clear of Lovefilm, as their service is really slow. Recommend Blockbusters as they can average 6 movies per week, if you return them the next day.

I have been using LoveFilm for well over a year now (since it was DVRABOnTap) and have had a great time. They are very quick to dispatch films (usually on the same day they receive your discs back) and always respond to e-mails within 48 hours. I have had some discs sent in error, but have had no problems in getting things sorted out. Currently have over 50 in my queue! I highly recommend them.

I use lovefilm and find it very good. I am now paying for the service 3 dvd but might give Amazon ago, as we struggle to watch that many dvRAB a month, but at the same time like the choice of movies when we do have an evening free.

I've been with the big three for some time. In my opinion...

Blockbuster have the fastest turnaround. LF and SS are on par.

LF have the broadest range.

SS have the best bonus discs, but when BB do have a two disc edition, they count them as one disc, which is good.

None of them are good at sending out your top selections. Just look of the draw I think.

BB has the most discs you can have out at a time, 5 at

I subcribed last night to LoveFilm.com and 3 films have been dispached today :). I spent all last night creating a list of films I wanted to see.

I'd echo the comments about poor service from Lovefilm. I've just rejoined, tempted by their 3 months for the price of one promotion (to previous members). For the first 3-4 weeks the service was fantastic; DVRAB turned around very quickly, new releases, lots of stuff from the very top of my selection list, just brilliant overall.

For the 3 weeks since then it has been like dealing with a different company, very very slow turnaround, sometime struggling to achieve one full turnaround each week. They may be victims of their own success with the last promotion, but there is also a growing suspicion that they don't like members who turn round DVRAB very quickly, and/or have gone past their initial payment period.

As for Blockbuster, I was a paying member for 3 months but have since left. Turnaround times were OK (at least they work Saturdays!!!!) but for me they rarely supplied anything from my top 10 selections (which were a healthy mix of old/new, popular/unusual titles).

Not sure how representative it is but have a look at the forum at www.dvdtrials.co.uk for comments on most of the current rental companies

I used LoveFilm, and they started out very well. Very quick turn around, always had the films we wanted. Then the turn around started to slow down, and they didn't have the films we wanted, not just new ones which you could understand, but older ones.

Cheekydvd are pretty good, for an 'alternative' type of film, if you catch my drift.

i use amazon and it has been great.

I got new releases within a couple of days and the turnaround for sending a dvd and getting a new one sent out is on average about 4-5 days.

Plus you get 10% off any dvRAB you buy while your subscribed (which works out really good on boxed sets).

Plus you can de-register whenever you want so theres no long term commitment
