Indiana Jones IV

That makes complete sense, and I feel exactly the same. In fact, it works with Star Wars films for me, too - where Jedi is my favourite film, but Empire is objectively the 'best' film of the saga

If you go to the official Indiana Jones website ... the trailer is there in all it's glory, plus other behind the scenes clips.

Brilliant trailer ... can't wait.

I thought it had the right feel for the era it was set in (it was like a 50's B movie) but that was some what different from the originals. Once I'd gotten used to it however I really enjoyed it.

Some nice noRAB to the older films and departed characters too.

At the risk of being controversial, ToD is the best one by a mile. Last Crusade was the distinctly weak one to me.

I know - It's just me that thinks that.

I have faith in the new one.... Then again I had faith in Star Wars Ep 1.

Hmmm...

I saw it today with my 8 yearold daughter, she loves the Indy movies and we both really enjoyed Indy 4, ok a lot of it was totally far fetched but it was a good old action packed romp which is exactly what you come to expect from an Indiana Jones movie.

I loved the references to "Raiders" and it felt like a fitting finale to the franchise.

I'm not a "Temple of Doom" fan. Everything about it was wrong. Did anyone think it was weird that Indy was hanging out with a kid and exposing him to dangerous situations?

And I can still hear Kate Capshaw screaming. That's all she did in the movie. Scream. Complain. Scream. Complain. lol. Bring back Karen Allen! :)

I do like the movie's title though. :D

George Lucas has revealed his plans for a fifth Indiana Jones film.

Speaking to Fox News ahead of the film's Cannes Film Festival debut, Lucas said he wanted to shift the emphasis away from the Indiana Jones character for the next film.

"I haven't even told Steven or Harrison this," Lucas told Fox News. "But I have an idea to make Shia [LaBeouf] the lead character next time and have Harrison [Ford] come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out."

Despite putting more emphasis on LaBeouf's character Mutt Williams, Lucas insisted that Ford would still get involved in the action sequences.

"It's not like Harrison is even old. I mean, he's 65 and he did everything in this movie," Lucas said. "The old chemistry is there, and it's not like he's an old man. He's incredibly agile; he looks even better than he did 20 years ago, if you ask me."

It's no less believable than a centuries-old knight hanging around with the cup for eternal life or someone that can suck out your heart with hand power etc etc etc!

Raiders:
Goes after a golden Cabbage Patch Doll
Escapes in a Plane with a Pet Snake Reggie
Back at College A female Student has a crush on him.
CIA rope him into going after an Ark
Character named (Abner) who went missing but is killed off oRABcreen
In Tibet a young girl trumps old soaks in a drinking game.
Nazis burn her pub down.
She goes to Egypt with the man who seduced her and upset her dad.
She hides in a basket.
An outrageously accented Frenchman is after the Ark
Ark in a temple with wobbly statues and C3PO on the wall.
... I could go on.

Maybe 'Raiders' was directed, played and written with more aplomb - but if you swapped Crystal skull and Raiders with each other in film history, the same amount of detractors might be about.

PS - RebelScum. Unless you work in a video store, why categorise anything?

The first three Indy film have maguffins which are pastiches of 1930s adventure serials, the fourth is a pastiche of 1950s B-movie sci-fi. I don't think you can categorise them together as anything but "Indy films".

Finally seen it today. Absolutely bloody loved it. I can't believe I've read so many negative things about it - CGI this, and rich Lucas that. It's all a load of bobbins. This is rollicking, rip roaring fun - pure and simple. I won't write a big post, but what I will say is I think simply put a lot of fans have had problems making the jump with Indy from the 30's to the 50's. It's a whole bunch of different movie and cultural references. I loved the whole alien/von Daniken/B movie thing. My only complaints were that
I would've liked to have seen Marion be more than just the team's mum figure, and I felt that Cate Blanchett's Russian psychic was perhaps a bit too pantomime.
But that's pretty much it for me.

It was never going to be as good as Raiders, but for me it's easily as good as Temple or Crusade - if not better. Marvellous entertainment. I can't wait to see it again.

It was good, not as good as the originals but I still liked it, and Harrison Ford and Karen Allen do have wonderful chemistry together

But in hinRABight, Ep 1 is actually a good film, in my opinion at least.

I think it will be a good film for two reasons - Mr Ford & Mr Spielberg. Lucas is an excellent producer and actually a good writer, but as a director he is utter rubbish. The origianl IJ trilogy were never as kiddie orientated as the SW films were. I'm sure that'll be the case with this new one too.
