Indiana Jones IV

just got back from watching it this morning.

I agree with you and the Markynotts and his checklist :o

it had it's moments, but I can't believe that this is the script they waited 15 years for :o. George Lucas should be banned from writing this stuff.

would have been a better film if they had only referenced the aliens as beliefs of the tribe and not even shown the flying saucer !

I'm decidingly meh after watching it :-/. Will go order the Lego game for my wii to cheer myself up ;)

No. It was based on a book by Erich von Daniken called Chariots of the GoRAB.

I really enjoyed. Daft as a brush. The OTTness of Temple of Doom, and the lightheartedness of Last Crusade. A little over-silly in places - but overall - thoroughly fun. It was far from perfect - but there were more ups than downs - it was NO Phantom Menace.

What i don't get is that how is His dad dead if he drank from the cup of christ which apparantly ment they would become immortal. It's like they just forgot about that because they couldn't get him back.

don't agree with that I think all the hype will make it a box office hit and one of the biggest of the summer.

did grown with the bit with the gophers it was like some thing taken from a Wallice and Gromit film.

Yes it does especially at the beginning, the lighting look purposely fake and the acting seemed purposely bad.So much so, that Iwas waiting for Speilberg to turn it round on the audience(Like the entire beginning was a story being told by someone else or something). I would say if you liked the first three Indys and temple of doom was your least favourite, you won't like this movi much.It was pretty much a confused parody of an Indiana Jones film, with flashes of the old trilogy here and there.

Why was a fourth film made. I didn't see any need for it. Harrison Ford is now like 63 or something and it just seems all wrong with a 63 year old or how ever old he is running round like he is still 30. The previous films were quite good but i just don't see any need for another film. Why do film companies always insist in doing film after film to do with the same thing??

Sat through the film but got so bored, 1/4 of the way through, wanted to go out and do something else. Same old rubbish I've seen before, zillions of times. Its ok. if your're six years old.

It fits well with the 1950's theme, really...

And, when you think about it, no more absurd in a metaphysical sense than immortal knights, magic rocks and angel-ghosts that make your face melt...

Am I the only one terrified by the concept of this film?

I'm 99% sure it'll be a turkey and tarnish the previously good name of the Indiana Jones series.

Nope, I think it sounRAB awful in principle. Having said that, I have faith in Spielberg (even if Lucas has proven himself to be a spent force) to keep me at least mildly optimistic.

I grew up and loved the first 3 Indy films, number 4 however has put a great big faecal-like stain on the series. I'd read a lot of the previews but wasn't prepared for the repetitive action sequences, terrible dialogue, idiot-proof script and just.,.

am too angry to write properly, it was just awful, why does hollywood have to dumb down films soooo much just in case some braindead amoeba wants to see and understand the film?!? Indy would never call someone a babe like he does!!! What the hell were they thinking?!? God I so angry that I will never watch another Lucas film again, especially after he almost ruined Star Wars for millions of people!! I'm going to make it my mission in life to award this film 0 stars on all DVD retailer sites.

I might cry now.

Well it can't do much more harm than The Last Crusade which was a tired looking imitation of Raiders.
Hopefully the lack of Connery should stop this from becoming as overcrowded, overly jokey and smug as the Lethal Weapon series. With Marion returning, colour me optimistic.
Does Shia's presence signal a future Indy franchise reboot I wonder?

Didn't say that, just meant it won't be a smashing all recorRAB phenomenon.:)

It'd be interesting to see whether the weekend on weekend takes grows or declines....picking a film out at random Titanic was unusual in that the business grew by each weekend, also it pulled a lot of repeat business.

Don't quite see that happening here. But it will be one of the biggest of the year, no question.

Went and saw this one yesterday and have to say that it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. But I was expecting it to be terrible!

The first ~25 minutes were utter dross, and the film only really started to take off when they reached Peru.

Was it just me or was the grading very poor, making the greenscreen work obvious? For a director of Spielberg's quality, I thought the lighting of most (all?) scenes was very poor and distracting.
