Jay was too much of a dick this series. The scene where they were burning Will's stuff and not registering at all that they were being out of order began to push it a bit too far for me, and Jay convincing Neil to just let Simon's car roll into the lake was the final straw. The Inbetweeners' biggest strength has always been the fact that people recognise their younger selves in the characters, and that was just way too unrealistic. Anyone would have hit him in real life.
Someone earlier suggested that Neil should make it big while Will enRAB up in a dead end job, but I think that would be a shame. The reason that the show resonates so well is that most people see either Will or Simon in themselves (how many people watch it and say "Oh yeah, I was Neil at school?). The reason that the show wouldn't work at university, for instance, is that people who were like Will or Simon at school tend to mature by then.
