I Demand My Money Back!! The Worst Films You've Ever Had To Sit Through

Oh no I thought that was great - especially the bit at the end when Bill Murray whispers something in Scarlet Johannson's ear, but you can't hear what he says.

However I'm glad I didn't see it at the cinema - is a film to watch cosied up on your couch with a big bag of Maltesers :)

I'd agree with that.

It was good in parts, but the last quarter of the film knocked it down a couple of marks for me. I did not really care about TLJ's character so the end portion was a big, 'and...so what?'. And the way they handled...if you've seen the film you'll probably know what I'm referring to...was very infuriating. They teased something throughout the whole film and then they swerved us.

Javier Bardem's character was the most memorable thing about it, IMO.

It can't get any simpler than this, so if you don't get it by the end of this post, just don't bother replying, because I'm running out of ideas to help you:

Scary Movie 3 - crap
Scary Movie 4 - crap
Meet The Spartans - crap
Date Movie - crap
Epic Movie - crap

Mmmm...there's a new one - Disaster Movie. I wonder what it's going to be like.

Half the reason these forums are here is for you to get an idea what something is going to be like before you waste money on it. Thanks to the posters on this forum, I have managed to stay away from what I'm now sure would have been absolute shite. Use these forums - or at least watch the trailer. An amoeba with a headache could have seen that Disaster Movie was going to be a big bag of wank just by looking at the trailer. I mean, if they're the best bits, what are the normal bits like?

:)

Shame he's looked like a ten-year-old ever since he was... well ever since he was ten, I guess.

Nah... ID4 is a great film. Yes, the acting is poor, the script is terrible, the plot is a hamfisted retelling of War of the WorlRAB, it's typically UScentric and Bullman is the worst US Pres. ever on film, but no film is perfect! It's a great 2hrs of alien cheering while they trash the US. great.

I switched off from you grievances when you mentioned Lord of the Rings and Jarhead as being bad movies.

Not much happens in Jarhead and that's pretty much the whole point, an actionless war film. The book is more clear on this though.

Oh I was quite looking forward to The Women - like u say, great cast (albeit botoxed beyond belief!!)

One of the worst films I have sat through was Dan in Real Life...sooooo dull and twee!! Yuck!!!

pazza, I loved Station Agent too, lovely pace, and feel. I saw the latest movie by that director, the Visitor a few weeks back in the cinema I think you'd enjoy it too. :)

:(:( I'm gutted. Was giving serious thought to buying this purely on what I've read about it and the clips I'd seen........I really should know better by now having fallen for the marketing tricks too many times in the past. Thanks for the warning lexie.

One of my favourite films. It's based on a novel by Bret Easton Ellis, who wrote American Psycho, so it's meant to be dark and pessimistic, conjuring up things and fears that occur in college/university. I've actually witnessed people acting in similar ways to the characters in the film, so it's not a totally inaccurate portrayal. The dialogue and style is amazing.

The rape scene is horrible but it's an honest assessment of what happens... I call it rape but this alcohol fuelled behaviour is a common thing in uni so that people (particularly girls) hardly know what they're doing. I find it as distressing as you probably do.

Star Wars Episode 1 is not defined by one character. It looks at Anakin as a child and so I think is a deliberate kid's film. If you look at it from that perspective, JJB is entertaining. And it has some cool stuff in it, such as Liam Neeson and his death duel. It's tons better than the following films.

I thought this was great for 2/3. The horror scenes weren't so good but it was an interesting plot development - a pro-apocalypse fundamentalist who believed things should take its natural course. Amazing visually and musically.

You're not alone with any of those choices, matey! They're all a big bag of shag, in both our opinions. Let's team up and take on the world!!! :D
