I Demand My Money Back!! The Worst Films You've Ever Had To Sit Through

Had to hunt to find this thread, seems to have fallen by the wayside somewhat, but I've thought of another Grade A stinker IMO..........Outbreak! - A great idea for a film but the worRAB "action hero" and "Dustin Hoffman" just don't go together. I think Kevin Spacey gets off quite well in this film as he dies relatively quickly before the whole thing turns unintentionally funny. I still chuckle when I remember the sight of Hoffman parading a picture of the monkey that has carried the deadly virus into America on live TV asking the viewing public "Have you seen THIS monkey?" And lo and behold a mother with a cute kid who has been feeding the stray ape just happens to be watching the box whilst her kid is outside with said monkey........I fell about laughing in the cinema and couldn't take it seriously after that to be honest. Plus Rene Russo as the heroine is infected with the ebola like disease which liquifies the internal organs but has the good luck to be given the antidote that the dastardly Donald Sutherland knew about all along and makes a complete recovery......what piffle!

Far to used to seeing european , South American & SE Asia cinema. They produce films that are miles in front of American cinema. Nothing done by Tarrantino could match Oldboy or Romanzo Criminale.

Baz Lurhamn couldnt make a film like Amelie , its use of colour etc makes Moulin Rouge look like ametuer hour.

Disney , cant be doing with its cliched & stereotypical outlook , are all evil characters English voiced? the messages sent out in the films are terrible , same old good ole American way. Are'nt Disney supposed to be in the middle of remaking / ruining Spirited Away? Does that company have any original ideas? Apart from the ability to get gullable fools to part with good money in its shops?

Brokeback Mountain , absolutley dire , compare with The Lives Of Others or Cinema Paradiso. Then its not even at the races.

if American films where any good they would win awarRAB all over the world , but they dont so they have the Oscars as it is a American film festival , then its films always do well , regardless of quality. You will get the odd gem like Assault On Precint 13 , or The Taking Of Pelham 123 , but they are few & far between & usualy directed etc by a Brit or other nationality.

The yanks are okay at throwaway pap like the usual blood & guts / disaster CGI laden event films they churn out. All they can do is rob others ideas & remake them into total turkeys , Nine Queens , Get Carter , The Ladykillers , Nikita , La Cage Aux Follies to name but a few that theyve totaly made a balls of.

:)

Alien v Predator 2 - I've posted more times than I can count on how bad this movie was!
Rambo 3 - ditto
Meet the Spartans - Made to see it be other half, fell asleep - thank god
No Country for Old Men - Boooooring - what was the point, I like DDL but WTF an Oscar for this crap :(
Breach - Boooring - somebody told me it was a comedy, only reason I saw it !- still trying to find the laughs now!
Gangs of New York - overhyped Leo di Crappio - per usual - OTT performance from DDL
The Golden Compass - HATED the ending - could live with the rest

I will be back later, I cannot think of anymore right now, but I do know there are loaRAB more

Little Voice
Napoleon Dynamite
Wizard of Oz (but Wicked's amazing :D, I hope they make that into a movie but knowing Hollywood-they'd probably ruin it)
Meet the Spartans
The Game Plan
Pirates of the Caribbean 2:Dead Man's Chest

So many but the ones that come to mind immediately are

  • The Titanic - I just wanted that ship to hurry up and sink - and the movie was sooooooo long!
  • The Lord of the Rings trilogy - bored me to tears
  • The last 3 Star Wars movies - just didn't work (i thought return of the Jedi was bad until i saw these)
  • Gangs of New York

I picked this one up from Woolworths when they were closing down for pennies, but have never got around to watching it, is it that bad!?!

In defence of whoever said you should have predicted Disaster Movie was going to be rubbish, it was pretty obvious it was going to be. Clue number 1) It's made by the people who made Date Movie, Epic Movie and Meet The Spartans, some of the most trashed movies of modern times, but yet each time making money, so they're hardly likely to change the formula of their "comedy". Clue number 2) The trailer must have surely hinted at the above point?

I thought AI was pretty good up until I think it was that circus part then after that it went down hill and rather boring and we said we cant believe we sat through that poo! and wished that I had fallen asleep.
Mind you I said the same thing about The fellowship of the Ring and refused to buy the DVD, but my wife liked it and got the DVD and now its one of my favourite films.
So maybe I may give AI another go.

My brother and I do that for Blade Runner. It's an excellent film to fall asleep to, because the screen is never bright, and the music is no intrusive. Plus, it's boring.
