I can't open my mind. I don't like big city culture like in London!?

I want to be happy, but I just can't open my mind to 'London' culture.

I don't like the fashion or the way people buy coffee and then walk around with it in a little cardboard cup with a stupid lid on the top with a little hole. I hate the London Underground when it is rush hour; I feel like a sardine. I hate the way people avoid eye contact when they walk past me and they rarely return my smiles. The types of clothes people wear (the fashion) and the way some young men and boys do their hair and wear skinny jeans or wear their jeans really low so their boxers and asses are bulging out I hate. I can't stand the pretentiousness of this place, for example people sneer at me when they see me wearing 'walking' shoes; black trainer-like shoes that are good for going for long walks in, perfect for living in the countryside and very practical. But nooo, I have to buy a pair of impractical, overpriced, pretentious brown leather slip on shoes!

I don't like the way there are big parks here where people can go to and pretend they are in the countryside. I don't like the idea that they think they are being green or cultured or anything because they fly a kite in a park or go for a walk. I hate the way everyone is so health crazed and goes for runs along the street with a bloody iPod strapped to their arm. I mean, I exercise too, but I hate them! At least I wear proper clothes, not specially designed designer tracksuits!

I hate the awful free papers (and the cheap ones) that all Londoners read on the underground! Stuff like the Metro and London Lite (which has gone bust I think haha!) are such awful papers. They are all about celebrities and they have such ridiculous and extreme opinions and so little on real news!

Lastly (there is stuff I have forgotten though!), I hate the way Londoners don't believe there is a whole bloody country outside their stupid city!

I'm going to be living here for 3 more months! God!
I was enjoying your answer until you started being offensive back to me, Chris! I know they are all little things...but they all build up! This is what I need help with. I'm not asking to be sworn at, I'm asking for advice on how I can open my mind and accept this culture.

I'm not grouping everyone together. I acknowledge that the boy I see with straightened hair and skinny jeans is not the health crazed career obsessed woman who goes for a run with an Ipod strapped to her arm every morning at 5 before having bran flakes and soy milk before going to work.

its ok, dont hesitate so much, your not live in a perfect world, if you cant open mind, it can means that you search for your home to which you want to return, or place that you like.. cheer for your return...
all that i can say is that book that is shiny on cover must not be within, keep you strong..

Calm down, I'm a Londoner and am honestly offended by some of those comments. Firstly, I too, am not a biggie on the so-called "London" culture, it's just city culture in general, all around the world. For some reason, most of us Londoners don't like eye-contact or talk to strangers anywhere, this is how it works in London, but when I go to Lowestoft reguarly, I make plenty of friends, so I try to take that lifestyle back with to London. Plus, skinny jeans aren't London things, don't try to twist facts to support your thoughts. Plus, I think shoes are fine and I never look at anyone else's shoes, I don't care what u dress like, I go in jeans a t-shirt EVERYWHERE. no matter what, work, holiday, sunbathing in Lowestoft.

Plus, what u said about the parks is now just being a little asshole-ish, don't pretend like you know everything and believe everyone is the same, it makes you seem a little melodramatic and to be honest, a little bit of a dipshit. The parks are nice plus, what is the problem with sitting in a park or playing with a kite in the park, no-one said we as Londoners thought we were in the countryside. Plus, u slanted everyone's track suits whilst hating being slanted for your boots, self-centered? I think so. iPods are not London things either, they are from America, plus they are good and people can do what they like.

The only reason people read the papers is because they are free, they may have odd views but how does this mean that everyone agrees with it, me and my friends often laugh at the countless spelling mistakes in them ourselves, the whole Metro thing is bullcrap. Plus, they are what we call Red Top newspaper, meaning they don't report news but they report entertainment news (i.e. news on celebrities, etc)

As a londoner I am extremely offended by the next comment, who the hell says who have a right to group all Londoners together and say that we all discourage the fact that there's a whole city outside of us. You fucker, don't be such an inconsiderate asswipe who's whole life involves coming on the internet to slant London. Calm the fuck down and live in this city, asswipe!

I can't believe you are going to be living here, why don't you piss of if u hate it, u fucktard. No-one wants u here! "God!"...sorry for my comments, there that makes me the bigger person. HAHAHAHA, Suck on that u asswipe. Don't slant without real evidence!!
