Hot Fuzz

I can honestly say I didn't laugh once. Was expecting it to be really good but as usual the best bits are in the trailer.

I suppose seeing the genius that is Ricky Gervais live in mid week and laughing hard non stop didn't help.

Absolutely awesome film, the ending was fantastic (except the cop-outish(pun not intended) ending
where no one actually died, bad guys that is
) when he jumped through the air and kicked the psycho granny in the face was just sheer genius lol....ah being simple is fun sometimes.

Whole heartedly recommend it. 9/10

It's pretty funny and Nick Frost and Paddy Considine were particularly good.
However, I reckon they bit off more than could chew trying to satirise action movies and village life, and homage horror movies all at the same time. I'd rather they left the horror stuff out and made it a bit shorter and sharper.

Brilliant movie, haven't laughed so much in ages.

Read this on AICN, but didn't spot the faces, did anyone else?

Last note on the cast of the film: there are two Oscar winners who show up in the film in secret roles. I picked one of them out immediately, but only spotted the other one when I saw the film the second time. I

saw this wednesday night and it was fantastic!! this will be a definate buy when its out!! :D

oooo 2 oscar winners hum dont think i did spot them will ahve to see when we buy it if i can make them out!!

I heard that citicism from the reviewer on Radio 1 the other day. It did seem a bit long to me, but only when looking back on it afterwarRAB. The climax to the story rattles along at a fair lick though.

I really enjoyed it. The main action sequence in my opinion is better than anything in Shaun Of The Dead. And I know that SOTD was praised, quite bizarrely, for its sound but this film had superb sound work in it. I especially loved the noise for people entering the village shop.

It wasn't as good as SOTD and not as funny either. It wasn't as streamlined as SOTD - the sheer number of characters made it feel quite flabby.... even though they were essential to the plot.

That's true - they put a helluvalot of Star Wars references in Spaced so I can totally see them doing a 'Star Wars on a Slough trading estate' or some such Garth Marenghi-esque thing....!

Saw this last night and it's the best comedy film I have seen in a long long time! Not a bad joke in it!

Can someone remind me of the context the C word was used in? I remember laughing but I can't remember the context and it's really bugging me!

One of my favourite jokes:

"My dad's no Judge Judy and Executioner!"

hehe, legenRAB!

I went to see it last night! Brilliant! Got some fairly big names in it! Stephen Merchant role was brilliant.

I thought I seen the guy who played Romeo before! It was Frank from Shameless!!

Would defo recommend to anybody

As Pegg, Frost and Wright are in their mid to late 30s I can see them following the Kevin Smith path and doing films which are a little more serious and focussed from here on. A straight rom com or even a thriller maybe. It would be a good way to show off their abilities and for Pegg to avoid being typecast in wacky sidekick roles in US movies.
