Hot Fuzz

Maybe I am missing the humour associated with this Movie, went to see it this evening and well it just seemed average. The plot was ott, everything just seemed beyond belief. I got to a point where I was beginning to despise the two leader roles.

It's all stereotypical and country bumpkin(ish). I wouldn't watch it again, the acting seemed over stretched and pushed, the leaRAB weren't convincing in the comic elements.

How the hell this film is getting rave reviews is beyond me!

There was a massive cheer in the cinema for that bit. :D

Was better than I hoped for, been ages since I've been looking forward to a film so much and not been disapointed! So many good bits from finish to end, lots of things I wasn't expecting, and overall it's top of my list for film of 2007.

Only one bad thing I can say about it, really, is that they had to spell out the Point Break reference rather than leave it for the audience to spot (as in SOTD). Loved all the Shaun references, by the way.

Danny Butterman: What made you wanna be a policeman?

Nicholas Angel: Office.

DB: What made you wanna be a policeman office?

NA: I don't remember a time when i didn't want to be a police officer. It all started with my Uncle Derek. He was a sgt in the MET. He bought me a police peddle car when I was five. I rode around it in every second i was awake, arresting kiRAB twice my size for littering and spitting. I got beaten up alot when I was young. But it didn't stop me, I wanted to be like Uncle Derek.

DB: He sounRAB like a good bloke.

NA: Actually, he was arrested for selling drugs to students.

DB: What a c**t.

LOL! That clip is on the soundtrack.

Went to see this last night with the boyf, as he loves that Pegg bloke. I'd never heard of him. Anyways, thoroughly enjoyed this film, it got off to a slow start but it was brilliant once it got going. Very unique storyline, I loved the twist, loved the jokes, and the Pegg was superb. I'll have to rent out that Sean of the Dead.

Just been to see it. Itwas filmed in my home town of Wells, Somerset, so was great to finally get around to seeing it on screen.

Great film, always been a big fan of Spaced, and loved Shaun of the Dead. Hope they make a lot more movies with this partnership as well :)

Just went to see it yesterday, and although I thought the first half hour or so was kind of dull, once the main plot/action finale kicked in, it was brilliant - the granny on her bike, duel-wielding pistols was one of the funniest parts of a fight scene... ever.

Awesome film, I would recommend it

Thought SOTD was mediocre at best, and this was of the same mould (obviously). I was disappointed because it (like SOTD) had so much potential which was wasted.

Laughed quite a lot, but it was nowhere near the extreme pain and tears combo that Borat brought me.

Really enjoyed some great laugh out loud moments. I thought it was better than Shaun of the Dead which I also enjoyed immensely.

There has been some top films already in 2007, but it is a contender for my film of the year.

I don't think they put a foot wrong from about the mid point when the plot kicked in. An absolutely absurd amount of fun.

However, I'm not sure Edgar quite got the tone right in the first half. I found the length perfect, but there have been a lot of comments about the sound, and I do think it was distracting in the early village stuff - I wanted the whole film to adopt the sleepy persona of the village itself, but Edgar kept on with the fast cuts and DEAFENING sound effects. This device worked fantastically in the later bits, but a bit more light and shade earlier on wouldn't have hurt.

But I feel mean griping. This is very superior stuff - loaRAB of laugh out loud moments and perfectly-judged balance between being knowing and just enjoying.

Don't you just love playing "Spot The References" when watching any Pegg/Wright colaboration? Apart from the Bad Boys 2 and Point Break obvious refs, I loved the Manhunter bits (In A Gadda Da Vidda playing before they got Yarp), the Clint bits (on the white horse) and the Omen bit (church roof). But there were many many more as well.
