2 -9242
1 -9200
2 -6100
1 -5900 (going to be sold)
1 -3100 (activated not being used)

No cards yet. And who said you couldn't have more than 6 receivers on your acct? :-)

anyone who has voted yes,
can you please tell us what the info screen says
as far as dnasp and rev ?

also what are the 6141 and 9242 receivers
dnasp and rev as of right now before the swap.

thanks

The CRTC wouldn't force a SWAP. If they did, BEV would insist they pay the cost if it's cracked again. That's what I would do.

I recieved a message yesterday saying that they sent me new cards in the mail 7 days ago and that I need to replace them ASAP.

Haven't seen the cards yet though!

Hopefully they'll come in the next few days.

We installed the new smartcard a few weeks ago, and since then have had constant messages that our switch is partially down. It COULD be a coincidence, but it started happening within about 48 hours. I'm reluctant to start climbing on ladders if this is actually something funky due to the smartcard. Any thoughts?

Activation initatied by yourself on their website comes from the satellite stream. Don't worry if you need to call them... I just realized that I called them from my cell phone when I had problems any no one asked any questions about not calling from the official land-line number the account is registered to.

I have 3 receivers and remember going through this before. My 5900 and 3100 are working fine, but my 4700 stopped working sometime overnight. I checked the system info screen on my 4700 and sure enough it's highlighted in green "New Card Ready". The last time they did the card swap thing the same thing happened to me....Sure enough a couple of days later I received the new card in the mail and all was well again.

Having been through this before, I called 888-SKYDISH and much to my dismay, found I was talking to someone in India who could barely speak english...She has obviously been told not to deviate from her script (unplug the receiver, disconnect the cable, pull the card, plug it back in, reconnect the cable, reinsert the card..., mixed of course with do you realize that you're not getting new channels because you're on a very old package and we're charging you an extra receiver fee, plus a system access fee that you wouldn't have to pay if you upgraded to one of our new packages.....of course I'm freakin' aware of this, but even with all the extra fees, I'm still paying less and get more channels than the cheapest of your 'new' packages...) despite almost having to yell at her that I've done all that, been through this before and would you please just reauthorize my freakin' card until the new one arrives.....Please hold sir, I need to talk to a senior technician.......15 minutes later......I spoke with our senior technician and he says reauthorizing your card won't work, you need to buy a new receiver.

Are you Freakin' kidding me?????? Over half an hour on the phone and they tell me I need to buy a new receiver?????

I'll be calling the business office tomorrow (conveniently they're only open business hours 'cause of course most of us only ever watch TV during business hours...) and demanding yet another 'no-service' credit....

Anybody know the status of the collusion lawsuit against Bell, Rogers & Telus???

got my 3 cards in the mail at the end of last week. When I walked through the door with the envelope with the cards, there was a message from Bell telling me I had to upgrade them within a week from recieving them. Anyone not do this, as I have not installed them yet. I haven't had time.

Sounds like they've started with eastern Canada and will end with the western provinces. So, I suppose I'll receive my smart card near April. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

So I wonder if the OP will actually receive any cards? You would think Bell would be smart enough (Yes, I know that's an oxymoron) to prevent the system from issuing cards to 6141/9242.

hi there, barter. >_< I live in downsview, ontario. I still haven't got my cards yet. which neighborhood do u live in?

Received my cards last week and from start to finish (receiving signal) was about 15 minutes. The phone activation was good, to me it was straight forward and it prompted me to activate the second card after I activated the first one.

Cheers
