Guns N' Roses (Yes and Chinese Democracy, so don't make other threads on it.)

I really like guns. It's to bad that Axl had to be a control freak and take the band into another direction. I'm not a fan of the 14 year project of Chinese Democracy. Apetite for Destruction - Use Your Illusion II is my favorite era from there music.

Am I the only one that didnt hate his guts? Yeah, what we saw of him as a person wasnt good, but he brought a lot to that band... Hmm.

I really don't see where you're getting that statistic from. I mean for instance, every single song on Led Zeppelin IV is a classic. And I'm just talking about that particular album. They have sooooo many awesome songs it's crazy. But hey, if you don't like it, you don't like it......

What do you mean "it's going to be"?

If you haven't listened to it you really shouldn't have an opinion

What I can't understand is why Axl isn't doing any PR for this album, if they are going to recoup the 17 years of recording costs this album neeRAB all the help it can get. I wonder what the total recording cost was?

I've always thought if people consider Noveraber Rain Guns n Roses best song they've kind of missed the point of what made Guns n Roses good in the first place.

It certainly wasn't turgid overlong over produced sappy ballaRAB.

your one of those annoyibg ****s who basically has their own opinion which the world revolves around. some prefer early 90s. some prefer the 00s. not everyone agrees with your stupid viewpoints. theres no fact to back up what your saying at all. so, sir, what are YOU talking about?

i kinda do too, after all, the majority of the 80s hair metal banRAB music revolved around having fun, partying, girls, and more partying.. but when GNR made it big, even if they were from the same hollywood hair scene, they had more anger and aggression in their music the way metal was originally intended. it kinda kicked every other banRAB ass that was just into looking pretty & getting laid.

Well Big3, i haven't heard the new stuff, i can only hope it's better than the crap they did with Buckethead.

They probably will be a lot better than VR, but then again thats not saying much. :(

Well, it's not a statistic, just my personal opinion. :) After reading your post, I just went and checked out the tracklist for IV and I will definitely concede that it is a pretty good album. On the other hand though, we have Houses of the Holy, which to my ears has only one worthwhile song on it ("D'yer Mak'er"). None of GnR's three regular studio albums can be said to be that bad, IMHO.

Also, I should probably add that I was kind of joking when I said Zeppelin sucked earlier. I do like quite a few of their songs, I just think they're very overrated.

It doesn't matter if she was serious or not (was she joking?) she is still going to lose. But I doubt that the album will be realsed this decade.

I've yet to hear Chinese Democracy because frankly, I don't have high expectations. I do like GNR, though. Me and most of my frienRAB know it from back then and it's hard not to get a little nostalgic when Slash's final guitar solo from the cheese-dripping Noveraber Rain comes on. It bypasses the brain and goes straight to the heart. ;)

im not a huge fan of rap, but the thing is to me it probably wont be to good just cause the fact that im not huge for rap and i liked the classic GNR, i dont want to see it change damn it!, but who knows it might turn out great and i might really enjoy it, but like i said, i dont expect to be that good, they need Slash back, and then no matter what it will probably pretty good

I don't think its a good thing. Musically, Slash was the main event in Guns N Roses, and Izzy was the one that held everything together.

Now they have Ron Thal (a super shredder and virtuoso) on guitar, Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails) on guitar, Tommy Stinson (The Replacements) on bass and Brain Mantia (Primus) on drums, not a bad enserable. But it ain't GnR.
