I agree, I also know the government doesn't have immediate access to tankers. So you can't blame the federal gov for not having them there like CESCBOOM is.
Military contractors dictate foreign policy. Monsanto dictates agriculture policy. Wall Street dictates banking regulations. And British Petroleum writes its own rules when it comes to offshore drilling. Same problem in every area, government is owned by the corporations. And they all operate with utter disregard for anything resembling ethics or honesty. There will be no changing this as long as the govt is run and controlled by corporations.
I like how they absolutely blast BP and act like they are the worst thing that has ever happened to the world, but they wont call it "radical islam" or "terrorism"
still, though, why are tankers a better option? towing more boom? surface cleaning equipment than cannot fit on another ship? i mean, i'm all for it if there are advantages, but i don't know what they'd be.
