Yeah. There are people who want anime licensed NOT to buy, NOT to rent, NOT for the streams, but so they can find out what's cool to STEAL. If this what a lot of anime fans are like, then every ounce of trolling FUNimation can do is justified and they probably shouldn't even make big announcements of their anime licenses. OK, just dumping shows on store shelves won't do them any good, but promote in some other way; I dunno, advertising on TV shows and in the Entertainment sections of the newspaper where I doubt the stupid piraters would dare look?

Also, I need to see Robogeisha!
 
A lot of people have forgotten that FUNi has long been a distributor and licensor for live-action TV. They are the distributor for Degrassi, for instance. This shouldn't really come off as a shock.

I don't really watch these types of films but most likely they will be quite entertaining for the intended audience.
 
They've acquired the rights to some of the Shaw Brothers Kung Fu flicks! That's pretty sweet. They have Dragon Ball, and now some of it's early influences. Perhaps they might bring fourth some sort of connection. Or at least not abandon those roots on the surface with a dub of Dragon Ball Kai.

Also, they have a lot of live-action stuff now. Who here thinks that FUNi might change their name?
 
With the way Chris Sabat keeps changing the damned video game scripts to include that trash I wouldn't be surprised if they brought it in to their Dragon Ball Kai dub, which is sad that I have to expect such will happen in this day in age.

Alas, I'm going to back back to awaiting my Dragon Box Volume two in the mail so I can watch more Fake Namek.

Um, the first day's haul was okay, but they'd better have spent pocket change on today's announcements. No, I don't see the humor from Robogeisha's trailer, it just looked very trampy to me.
 
As I've said, I'm skeptical. I'm more likely to sell my Gundam collection than they are to change. They have a good brand going and have had it going for a few years. Why change?

Well, it's better than licensing crap anime. Robogeisha is atleast tongue in cheek/smart alek. However, there are a lot of good titles they could snag, and I hope they turn up during this licensing trip.
 
Honestly I found this annoncment kind of dissapointing..all that build up and waiting & then they announce that, I'll check out the movies is there cheap enough...but not the best way to start a rollout IMPO.
 
I'll agree with this. Finally watched the trailers from both, and Kamui looks as promising as RoboGeisha looks impossibly ridiculous. I think it actually beats out Japanese Spider-Man for the silliest piece of Japanese live action that I've ever sampled.
 
True..in CYBERSPACE, no one can hear you scream. I can understand why there angry of course, but there are many people overreacting to this, hopefully tommarow will settle them down abit.
 
Too late, you set your hopes up too high.

Seriously, there isn't anything that'll, like, blow you into the next universe, but it's one of the most enjoyable martial arts films out there with its simple and accessible story and the choreography doesn't try to pull the wool over your eyes. All the actors here are clearly doing most of the gymnastics. It's not just a fuzzily edited blur of incoherent body parts like today's martial arts movies.
