Funimation "Roll-out Riot" Talkback

Hey, some of these might be pretty good. Shinobi was a good live-action release from Funi.

Sign me up for "kung fu" and "historical epics"...perhaps.

There are already so many releases from FUNi I will be buying this year, hell, within the first three months, that while it would have been cool to see a few announced this week that I wanted(who knows, maybe tomorrow) I will soon forget all about it as the first of a steady stream of FUNi releases start hitting my doorsteps.

Besides while FUNi sort of made a big deal about this its mostly peoples unrealistic expectations for what they "expect" to be licensed that cause all of this drama. The comments on that blog are a corabination of hilarious and sadly pathetic. Its the first full week of the year, do you not think they will announce more titles in 2010?

Fan reaction and their bi-..uhm nagging is the issue to me.
There is, like I said a day or so, a whole backlog of titles from FUNi people probably haven't seen..
Glad about FUNi having the Synch-Point dub, now heres hoping for more extras.

Indeed it is.

Now FUNi, give me my properly dubbed Dragon Ball franchise...that's right, all 508 episodes, 17 films, and three TV specials. And I want it by a quarter past six!

QFT. Both the Funi blog and some of the comments here make me hate being an anime fan. It's probably the reason why [adult swim] hates anime, well, besides the whole "low ratings" issue.

Wow. They got Robogeisha? I thought it would end up being a Media Blasters property, since they handled both Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police (same gore director as Robogeisha). Nice steal, Funi.

Seriously? That isn't even anime... =/

Not interested... One would have thought that they'd at least announce anime of some kind for the first day...

There's a part of me that would check out these live action films out. I really do want to see these, but I know I'll forget to check these out when they eventually come out. If they do cross my mind again. I'll be sure to check them out anyway.

I forgot FLCL's original US distributor went six feet under. Already own it, but the Blu-ray looks tempting.

EDIT: They also own the digital rights to it. Expect this everywhere (iTunes, Xbox Live/Zune, PSN, Hulu, YouTube, Funimation.com/video, etc), along with Robogeisha (the only other property Funi has announced during this week with the digital rights secured)

I can see why it was call a "rollout RIOT" obviously FUNI KNEW the LA stuff would make the anime fans angry, can't say I'm to happy about it myself, Yeah its fine for funi to get LA movies, but announcing them during what was supposedly a big event...is rather annoying!

Shame they can't get stuff like The Myth and Legend of the Condor Heroes, but I guess TV series are too big for such an experimental market.

Not quite what I was expecting but SWEET, classic kung-fu action. And those remasters look absolutely beautiful... I'll probably check some of these out.

Hey, I could take the complete removeral of the current dub from the market in any and all forms if a new, properly produced dub is too expensive.

Okay, Boo-Frickin-Hoo. (Sorry to sound obnoxious about it)
But yeah, I'm stoked for the SB releases.
I LOVE Old Late 60's and Mid 70's Martial Arts films and the SB movies were some of the best.
