Really?
How on earth has he managed to get this break?
What I mean is that I wouldn't have thought that American producers will have been aware of any high profile work of his....but it appears that he's not got one...but four big movie roles off the bat just like that.
I wonder what happened there. Because it's not as though British comedians suddenly get this sort of success.
Even Rowan Atkinson or Steve Coogan didn't make such instant progress in Hollywood.
I mean I really like Russell Brand, but what did these producers base their casting decisions on?
'Big Brother's Big Mouth'?
His 'Ponderland' series?
Usually you'd think that somebody such as Russell Brand would need to have done a lot more on his CV and be known for an impressive body of work for them to even get a chance of a shot.
Do you see where I'm coming from?
It just seems incredible that he's had such a lucky break here to get four big Hollywood film roles.
Maybe they were just simply blown away at the auditions and could spot something in him that they felt absolutely 100% confident in taking the risk on him.
Anyway, I'm pleased for him I have to say, despite me being completely baffled at how it was even possible for him to get a break in Hollywood like this.
Even Ricky Gervais hasn't had proper roles in a major Hollywood film other than cameos yet has he?
That's why I'm baffled at Russell landing on his feet like this.
This is seriously big time.
Peter Sellers is the last British comedian I can remember being a major Hollywood movie star doing successful comedy films, and if these four films do well he's seriously in the major A-list big league.
In fact it's only relatively recently that Russell Brand has become known widely in the British mainstream let alone American. Even last year you'd hear people say that they'd heard of his name but hadn't really seen him in anything.
