Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Russell Brand, Kristen Bell)

"Steals"? The UK publicity implies he's the star, in the adverts he's in the foreground and Jason Segel's much smaller in the background. Curiously this isn't the way the official film web site portrays the film.

From what I've seen it looks like a decent undemanding comedy, but I do find this kind of truth-stretching publicity annoying. All it neeRAB is some hack desperate enough to use the worRAB "comedy of the year" in a pitiful attempt to get (mis)quoted on the posters.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. I'm a big fan of Apotaw movies and the brilliant Russell Brand so it will be interesting to see him in a big Hollywood movie. I hope Russell doesn't go all divaish and Hollywood after this and the other movies he'll be making come out but stays true to himself and his fans :)

I saw this movie this afternoon & wasn't expecting much, so it was really a pleasant surprise to find it as funny as I did:D. Loved Russell Brand, Jason Segel, Mila Kunis & Jonah Hill......Kristen Bell left me a bit 'meh' TBH.

Re Russell Brand, I would say this role is more him being himself than playing a character & he had some great one-liners....he was a lot more entertaining than I anticipated which was a bonus:D.
As posted by another FM, if I had to choose one of the cast I would've guessed he'd be the one doing the nudity however it was Jason who wasn't hiding his no so small light under a bushel:eek::o...I didn't know where to put my eyes:o.
I found Russell strangely attractive before now but prior to the scenes in the film who new he was so well formed & 'bendy' to boot? I am a definite fan:o:o:o

Overall I found it to be an enjoyable Rom Com without getting too soppy/sentimental & was pleased it didn't rely on gross-out jokes for laughs.

That is a bad review, indeed. Mind you it is the first one I've seen too so maybe others have been better...

EDIT - I generally find Total Film's reviews pretty spot on and they've given it a very good review.

I'm happier now!

It doesn't look that good, to be fair. The best bit of the trailer is Kristen Bell turning up in a bikini. It's pretty amusing that her new boyfriend in it is Russell Brand, but otherwise it just seems to be a boring retread of loaRAB of other films. There's no way this will be as good as Superbad (yeah, that was overrated anyway, but still good)

I went to see this film last night and I found it very funny indeed. I am not a fan of Russell Brand but he does make the film very funny and is almost perfectly cast for it!
For all the people ranting about Kristen Bell, I think (from a females point of view) that Mila Kunis is much prettier and has a much strnger presence on the screen.
Although predictable in some parts I did enjoy it and made me laugh more than a film has in a long while. I am going to recommend people go and see it.

Oh, thank you. You're welcome.:)

It's still early days though yet, but it will be interesting to see how things play out with Russell Brand.
He's just one of those people that has such an in your face image you can imagine that if he does hit it off America, it'd probably be in a very big way.
A bit like the Jim Carreys, Steve Martins, or Jack Blacks, very expressive and distinctive characters. You just know that in America if you're distinctive like that and you achieve success, it'd be the sort of success that'd really catch fire.

:)

Saw this the other day, think its quite good in part and silly in others, not my favourite film but seen worse.

Russel Brand was funnier than I thought he would be.

As pretty as Kirsten Bell is, I am surprised that everyone is going on about how stunning she is on here as I think Mila Kunis is much more beautiful!!

he got on with adam sandler when he was on 1 leicester square andhe suggested him for the film

i personally loved it

the 2 sex scenes near the beginning (the woman who kept grunting and the woman who kept saying 'hi') made me cry with laughter

ditto paul rudd's surfer dude, he was hilarious

Word to that brother :-P

Heyy this must be the film Russell was talking about on his live DVD :-D Mila Kunis is in it. Hehe, i'll only be able to think about Russell trying to chat her up, 'Mac' and the football game in green pants ^_^
So the lead is the guy who plays Marshall in How I Met Your Mother. Not bad. But we've seen him do the whole break up thing in that show.
