Hola!!!:....que bien!!..escribiendo en castellano?¿...jaajjajaja....

I'm so sorry!!...it's been awhile since my last post!!....but now i'm on vacations!!!!.....summer!!!:....god!!!...finally!!!!
Mexican food....mmmmm....yummi!!!!.....i love Tacos, burritos....enchilada....i dont know if i said that right....anyway....

You think my english is good?¿?¿......OOOHHHHH...thanx so much!!!!...that means a lot to me!!...i always feel that i write like a 5 year old. And i do!!:...that's the big problem!!!..."Me Tarzan, you Jane".....jajjajajajaj....i really think i'm better at it tho...every day a little bit better....i hope!!....but please, if i'm writing like an indian, you have to tell me!!...;)

Hey what about Promedio Rojo...did you see it?....i haven't!!!....i didn't have the time to go, so now i have to wait untill the damn movie it's available in Bloockbuster...

Right now im dying to see Amenabar's latest movie "Mar Adentro"...The Sea Inside...cant wait any longer!!!!
 
I haven't seen that many german movies, but I like a few.
I really liked Run,Lola,Run and Blue Angel, with a brunette Marlene Dietrich. I've also seen a few things by Fritz Lang and liked it.
 
I mostly love German cinema. Right through from silents to Lola Rennt. I'd like to say Barbara Sukowa is one of my favourite actresses as well - especially in Zentropa!!

I was terribly unimpressed with French New Wave but I do like French films prior to it. As well as the later Amelie

Mar Adentro by Açejandro Amenabar won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Picture. I'm glad, even though I wanted "House of Flying Daggers" to win.
I think Amanabar is a great director. And Javier Bardem is a wonderful actor.
 
I loved Jeux d'enfants aka Love me if you dare. Guillaume is such a hottie and the movie was cute but weird! ;)

I also like Marion Cotillard a lot. She was in Big Fish and a very long engagement;

One of my fave movies of her is Les jolies Choses aka Pretty things. But I warn you : that's really really weird ;)

I agree. It was one of my fave movies of 2002.

Last foreign film I saw was City of God :eek: Good movie. Violent, but good.

Has anyone here seen Possible Loves? Apparently it won a Brazilian award for Best Picture. It's supposed to be a dandy!
 
Last semester as part of my program in college (Languages) I had a course called 'Foreign Language Cinema'. It was great, and it really got me interested in seeing more films. Lately I haven't had the chance, but here are some of the ones I've seen and liked (hope I get all the titles right ;)) :

German:
* Jenseits der Stille (Beyond Silence)
* Gro
 
There's a buzz here in Puerto Rico about "The Motorcycle Diaries" but I haven't been able to see it. I don't know if its available here right now.

I rented "The Pillow Book" today, finally. Can't wait to watch it. I've found a new love for British filmmaking :D

I also love Latin American films, they're just great. I'm from PR so I may be biased :lol: But they're great. I have seen probably less than 20 Latin American movies but I want to change that as soon as I have time to indulge myself. :sigh:
 
El crimen del Padre Amaro was really good.

When I first saw Y tu mama tambien I didn't like it. I'll have to give it a second chance someday.

There is this Spanish (from Spain) thriller that's actually really decent, it's titled "Thesis" for anyone who likes thrillers.
 
I've wanted to see Y tu mama tambien for a really long time now, is it worth going to BlockBuster for?

The only other foriegn film I've seen is "Like Water for Chocolate" and I loved it.

I wanted ask the people not from America about the American films you've seen since they would foreign films for you. I wanted to know if you guys had seen "American Beauty," "The Virgin Suicides," or "In The Bedroom" and liked them, or if you've seen any American film you liked.
 
To be honest I don't know very much about Moretti's other work, but it sounds very interesting. I will have to try and find some of his previous films. I have to agree about 'The Son's Room', I found it extremely difficult to stop crying. It was such an emotionally moving film.
 
I'm from Chile...my native language is spanish of course, and all the movies...well a big part of them...are in english, so the subtitles are an essential part. It is a habit for me now...but i understand people that get distracted with it. It is not dificult at all tho!...it's even good for you. In my case I learned so much english just by reading and understanding what the characters were saying!!...

"The Son's Room" made me cry like there was no tomorrow. And I loved it specialy because I didn't expect it to be so moving. Moretti's other work are documentary-like comedies with political content (which I have to say I love). And this is purely fiction about a family that has to deal with a tragedy. It had nothing to do with Moretti's previous work but it was one of the saddest movies that I've ever seen.
 
cool....i've seen all of those films...the reason i saw 'der krieger und die kaiserin' was because
it's by the same director as 'lola rennt' (loved the frantic energy of 'lola')....and once again it stars franka potente...

I loved these 4 movies. :)
 
I love foreign cinema, unfortunately there isn't a real opportunity to explore it in England.

However, some of my favourite foreign films are:
