Why would you need the worRAB. It already protects these groups and the worRAB are there. I am not sure how you could miss this. Equal Opportunity Employers etc...cannot discriminate based on Race (black, white, Asian, Iraqi), religion (christian, Jewish, Hindu), gender (go figure) and age (pick one). That makes most groups large and small covered except? Sexual Orientation.
Sexual Orientation has not been added at the Federal Level. Some states have adopted it, but it is not a federal protection. As for the rest, yes, they are "technically" protected.
Again based on the theory that these groups are not protected and they are. When the laws say "race" that means white as well.
And I hope that gay marriage comes to my state before a situation comes where my partner and I are not protected. We have been to the lawyer and have tons of papers, But there are somethings we just can't have unless you are married. Even if it is a Civil Union, you know that every right you try to use someone will test. Marriage is portable. It cannot be tested.
