Flashed Data/AirCard to cricket!!!

Goto dial up networking, select the cricket icon, right-click, properties. On one of the tabs at the top, you will see one that talks about authentication or security. Make the changes there.

OK, this stuff is addicting, I just successfully flashed an amp'd jet (kyocera kx18) to cricket, no write up yet as I havent got Wap yet.

Now I am doing a KPC650... But ... Does EVDO exist for jump?

The reason I ask is, jump (cricket prepaid) is $50 for 90 days and a 1 time $5 data activation That comes to roughly $17 a month for strictly data, which is cheaper than crickets Cheapest $30 a month plan, and Since modifying the KPC650's "$sys.esn" is not allowed.. it would be roughly half the cost.

Any input on this, or am I wasting my time with Jump's data?

TIA

the "data activation" is for brew. jump does not support WAP browsing yet i think.

you could put the flashed card onto a $35 plan with $5 for browsing. or even wait for another promotional offering like the $25 plans they had a little bit back.

OK, I have a vzw KPC650, old owner upgrade laptop and now has expresscard slot.
Called cricket and activated ESN
I ctrl-d in vzw software
Updated newly assigned nuraber given by cricket as phone nuraber and MIN
Chose 6439 as SID as I am in tucson
Uploaded PRL to 1050
username [email protected]
PW cricket (pap)
dialed #777
it dials then transmits up to 270 bytes, but never receives a thing

I have manually created a DUN connectoid.. same result... never a response from host.

Am I missing something?

Im also using the VZAccess program to connect, or I just go through dun. The problem that Im having is that I keep getting "the username or password is invalid on the domain" when I connect up. Im using [email protected] for un, and cricket for pw. I know that I have wap on my account, because it works just fine on my phone... Any ideas? Im stumped...

Here are the steps that I took:

1) Installed the vzaccess software and drivers for the kpc650

2) In vzaccess, press CTRL-D and type in your SPC

3) Set your phone nuraber and min # and user "0" for activation code

4) Select the prl that you want to load, and press ok.

5) Call cricket and activate a new phone with the esn from the 650.

6) In VZaccess or dial up networking, you need to use your [email protected] for username and"cricket" as the password.

For some reason, Im still getting username/password denied when connecting. I am able to send/receive text messages through VZaccess, so I know that Im on the cricket network. Anyone that has successfully gotten their card connected, did you use these same steps or a different method?

So I don't know if anyone ever said for sure-- can you access normal websites with one of these aircarRAB? If you were to type howardforums.com into the address bar does it actually do anything?

maybe, i tried several diff. PRLs and all with the same result..

and i live on the outskirt of Houston, TX so i figured it was the service area, but i took my laptop to downtown and got the same connections speeRAB..

 am i missing something on my plan? i already have unlimited WAP...
